Like pharmboy said HT Ito Tenn. Shad. My favorite reflective/flashy color of V 110.

Re: Legend Glass vs. Lunkerstik

Pretty sure the old Fenwick glass rods were E-glass while the newer Fenglass rods are S-glass like the St Croix's. I'd be curious also, as I still use old custom Lamiglas E-glass and Seeker S-glass rods. I'd really like to know their weights. I've fished with some glass rods that were quite heavy an...

Re: Best rod for Whopper Plopper (sizes 110 and 130)

My favorite rod for the ploppers is a 7'2" MH Swampland (Seeker) S-glass. I use 30lb braid and can flat out fling those baits a mile while still having the grunt to plant the hooks and still have the soft tip to keep the fish pinned. I've tried throwing them on heavier fast action graphite rods that...

Re: I don't understand Enigma Rods

Skeet Reese has made an absolute fortune off the W&M rods, so I'm sure A-Mart thought he could too.
Other than the "pro staff" discount folks, I don't know anyone who owns the Enigmas.

Re: Lucky Craft Gunfish 95

It's my favorite walking bait in calmer conditions. I've caught a ton of fish on them through the years.
It casts well and walks easily.

No contest- Yozuri Rattlin Vibe. Whether the water temp is 35 or 95, it will catch fish.

Re: Spybaiting - who's been successful with it?

It's been a key bait every vacation trip to N. Michigan the last 3 years. It's a great bait for covering water much in the same manner that I use a trap here in OK. My Dad put a 5.86 smallie in the boat on one this year and it put a lot of 1-3lb fish in the boat. Here at home I have had a few good d...

Re: The Wife's Combo

My wife loves to go fishing so I got a few setups just for her. Custom Phenix UMBX 7'3" MH w/ red Winn Grips and a Scorpion 201 for bottom contact baits. Powell Endurance 723 Composite with a Curado 201E for cranks. Abu Ike 7' M with a Daiwa Emeraldas MX 2508H for lighter stuff. (Beautiful combo) Th...

I've heard Z was dropped by Shimano/G. Loomis, so he went to Daiwa.

Re: 13 Fishing Concept Z

Polymer bearings- plastic bushings. I'm shocked they would work better than ball bearings, but some googling revealed they are used quite a bit in industrial applications in place of ball bearings. As far as the anti reverse, they are roller bearings not ball bearings, so technically they could say ...

Re: Reel Casualty

Gen.1 & 2 Revos. I have/had an SX and Premier from each of those generations and clutch return issues popped up within a couple months. Pawl replacement was also a given. Clutches have been repaired and were bad again within months. The most bulletproof reels I have are old B series Curados/Scorpion...

Re: Abu spinning worth a look?

How bad was the total cost (shipping, fees, etc.)?????? All the reels on their site are priced including shipping. I believe the reel was around $160, but I ended up paying a bit more because paypal really gives you the shaft on the exchange rate. I've seen the Stradics on sale for $150 on a few US...

Re: Daiwa J-Braid Opinions

I bought the 30lb 8 strand J-Braid and I hated it. Using it on my topwater rod for throwing spooks, it would dig in, fluff and backlash every other cast. To me it was like dental floss and just the act of working a spook caused the line to dig in slightly causing casting issues constantly. I went ba...
