Re: Inshore Baitcaster for under $100??
I am running a super tuned Curado e51 for reds and snook down here in Fl. It has turned out to be a great inshore salt water reel for me.

Re: So... Fireline
I'm using 10lb Fireline on my Aldabaran XG BFS Limited and a Major Craft Volkey 692 L casting rod. I throw Jackall Super Eruption spinnerbaits and Dera Break "Chatters" with it. I've taken fish to 8lbs on the set up. I've never had any issues with the Fireline.....old or new formulation. The old stu...

CDM Trout Spoons
With my renewed interest in fishing ul for panfish and bass, I decided to look into buying some smaller, lighter trout spoons. Stuff weighing between 1/32oz and under 1/8oz. In the past I went with Diawa Crusaders or Smith Native series spoons which are aces but I decided I didn't want to spend 5 or...

If you really mean ultra light and not light tackle.......look into the Tica Cetus SB500 or SB800

Re: TT or TTF ... Which came first for you?
TT came first for me. Way back in the day, there was a monthly publication I used to get called Tackle Tester. I was 16 or so and with the 10.00 subscription they gave you a pretty decent package of California hand pours. It wasn't quite a magazine, it was more like a 20 ish page newsletter that cam...

Re: Uncharted Foreign Waters - what lures?
beetlespins, roostertails, roadrunners, small jig heads with 1.5" plastics......some spoons and rapala minnows. Those will catch anything, anywhere for UL.

Re: Your 3 go to/favorite baits, and three you hate?
Do you guys "hate" these baits because they don;t work for you or you simply have little experience with them? This is the 1st thing that's made sense to me the entire thread lol I mean people hating jigs? That means to me they likely don't know how to fish them because they surely are one of the m...

Re: Tsurinoya XF-50 Budget BFS Reel Teardown & Evaluation
I did the drag upgrade and lapped the metal washer on my XF50 today. It came out great. I didn't have Cal's, so I used Quantum Hot Sauce and possibly some blueberry preserves. I couldn't tell after a while. But it came out awesome. some findings...... Initial testing- Tsurinoya XF50L and Dragon 6-0 ...

Re: The smallest ultralight spinning reel?
It really depends. I am running 3 CI4 Stradic 1000's and a Soare 1000 but I also have a couple of Sahara 500's. I was going to shell out the coin for the Soare 500 but I stopped short as I rationalized that it likely wouldn't do anything these reels already do in my Florida fishing. I have a place i...
