Re: Calcutta Conquest BFS 2023 experiences so far?
Does the 23 Conquest BFS have the same ultra tiny teeth like the one before? They would be the same size as the ones in my 19 Antares 70 A and that’s my only general use Shimano that didn’t develop any annoying buzz, even after 3 years. Just a tiny bit of a connected „yup it does have gears in it“ f...

Re: What Questions would you have for a new rod company
For a made in US company: How do you expect me to pay a premium price when all you use is a ECS, plain cork and no custom trim parts + apply your decals with half a cups worth of an epoxy blob that can be mistaken for a foregrip. Jokes aside, given the rod already caught me eye so it’s decent design...

Maybe there are some differences, but the obvious - body and braking system are the same.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 4:20 pmSaw that one on aliexpress. Didn't know that they are the same reel.

Re: Closest match to Steez 7'6" MML
I ordered mine from Japanese Yahoo Shopping via Zenmarket.com. It’s a shopping + international shipping service and you can request pictures once they receive the rods to make sure there’s no damage. I have not checked the upper limit yet, but only tried a carolina rig with a 1/4oz bullet + 3“ OSP s...

Re: Closest match to Steez 7'6" MML
I have no experience with your said Tatula Rod, so if the action matches your preference is up to you to determine… but maybe it’s an option: the Graphiteleader / Olympic Silverado line of rods. I’ve got the 2023 7’6 ML spinning and it’s ridiculously light, crisp and sensitive. You get full Torzite ...

Re: Still trying to dial in Met 20 JDM casting settings
That would make the upgrade the first braided line that has a significantly higher breaking strength than any other at the same diameter. Essentially if you look at the PE rating, they’re all pretty much the same. PE2.0 x9 = 30lb Asian, PE2.0 YGK upgrade = 30lb Asian. I’ve just used the US pound tes...

Re: Still trying to dial in Met 20 JDM casting settings
Since I’ve bought some UL spools, I had to take 2 brake blocks from somewhere so I took them out of my JDM Mets. Never had any problems just using 2 blocks with the Met. 2 blocks on, minimal side play, 2.5-5 on the dial for Berkley X9 from 10-14LB on ML to MH rods. Contrary to what has been said I s...

Re: New Shimano high end baitcasting reel?
I believe the Metanium Shallow is what you’re looking for. Same line capacity and light lure capabilities as the Alde MGL but beefed up and more premium feel thanks to its sturdiness. No other Shimano reel is as tiny as the Aldebaran. The Antares isn’t a small reel, it’s a good hand full. However co...

Re: Fuji TCH reel seat
$250? They are 55 bucks on eBay. RRP ¥6000 + VAT in Japan. So $45-50ish. Still five times as expensive compared to what I normally use.

Re: Fuji TCH reel seat
Extremely rigid seat unlike the nylon seats of the past like ECS and ACS, bueatiful, lightweight, and more comfortable to my style than the ECS/ACS. If you like Daiwa’s Air seats you’ll like the TCH. I’ve only seen a few rods made with this brand new seat. Only place I could find one to buy was ove...

Re: Phenix Feather 7'1 L Casting
I have built a custom rod on this blank. For its price, it’s quite nice. Sensitivity is reasonable, weight and balance considering the length too. The only thing that bugs me is it’s lack of recovery speed. I’ve used 4,5 Alconites to keep the guide train light but man, it‘s pretty wobbly. Just sth t...

Re: Point Blank 701LXF - Project “Vader”
If I’m understanding you right , your saying that it’s lacking in the power dept? Digging this back up because I just took pictures for a friend who might take it off my hands as I still wasn’t able to find a reason to build this blank…. Maybe the picture helps someone with decision making The weak...
