Re: Last Gekkabijin Jig Head
Chris at Finesse Fishing . com has some of the red headed versions. https://www.finesse-fishing.com/ajing-jigs-shop.html I just received an order from Plat, but many of the sizes are out of stock. Takes about an additional week or so to get them from Japan as they are now shipping via DHL Thanks, I...

Re: BFS Topwater Fun
Very cool! All these BFS posts lately have been making me want to get a setup. I've been looking at rods on aliexpress. So many options. Give it a try its lots of fun. With BFS the rod and reel work very much together to make casting of lower weights possible, so pick a rod that's rated at, or bett...

Re: Pond Fishing
There they are! Very nice.
FYI, it looks like you pasted the thumbnails link. If you chose the "Hotlink for Forums" option they'll show up here at the size you select. I usually choose 800x600.

BFS Topwater Fun
As an UL fisherman, I don't fish topwater much. Maybe it's more a function of rarely being on the water during the prime hours of dawn and dusk than it is a function of ultralight. For daytime, frogs, in particular, aren't suited to UL since it takes a strong hook set to get the hooks on even the li...

Last Gekkabijin Jig Head
Headed out in my kayak on a small lake the other day, armed with a Major Craft 6'3" Finetail Area Stage and a Shimano 18 SOARE BB C2000SSPG reel lined with orange Shimano Sight Laser EX Ester (2.2# I think) and a 7X flouro tippet leader. Looked in my tackle box and saw that I had one last 1 g Daiwa ...

Re: Pond Fishing
Mike, sounds like you're doing very well with the new Aldebaran and BFS in general. Amazing you can cast a 1 g lure on 6# mono. I know I can't, but I've still got a lot to learn about BFS. FYI, your pictures don't show. In my opinion, the best way to post pics here is to use postimage.org. No need t...

Re: Aldebaran BFS
I have the same rod/reel combo and it does cast 1/16th a dream. Try to see how low you can go. My casting falls apart below 1.6 g. One of my favorite features of the Aldebaran is the click drag. It's nice getting that instant notification that line is being taken.

Re: Short BFS rod
Not much cheaper than the Major Craft Finetail, but a 3'11" rod. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000860391862.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000014.24.7e1547a21F3eGr&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.14976.171374.0&scm_id=1007.14976.171374.0&scm-url=1007.14976.171374.0&pvid=50716777-1b53-4d36-...

Re: Finezza Prototype Nuovo S.T. limited
Sorry, don't know that rod but wondering if you could describe your fishing situation in more detail? Are you trying to get long casting distance with the light braid and reasonably long rods? I mostly fish for gills and crappie using Trout Magnets and Crappie Sliders. I'll sometimes use braid and l...

Re: Baitcaster Casting Video
I was surprised to see him using 1/4 oz, 7g, lures in very small streams. Smoking gun. Christ I can cast 7gr with 30lb on a 4-7kg 5'8" with an old G / E / K series Curado a fair way - maybe not with as much flair and overall gentlemanly pizazz... I think most of us can cast 7 g w/o problem. It's al...

Re: Short BFS rod
are we not supposed to put links in for some reason???? sorry if i broke rules.... if I need to repost with just descriptions, please let me know... I believe we are to avoid links to sites that aren't forum sponsors. Thanks for the research but those rods a typical of what I found. All 5' or longe...

Short BFS rod
My shortest BFS rod is 5' but I'd like something closer to 4'. In tight quarters I'd like to be able to make underhand casts. Can do it with 5' but it's a bit tough on my shoulder. With a 4 footer I won't have to raise my elbow as high. The Major Craft Finetail FTX-B38/425UL would be just the ticket...

Re: Baitcaster Casting Video
I remember when he first came up on the forum, maybe a year ago. I was surprised to see him using 1/4 oz, 7g, lures in very small streams. It helped change my perspective and understanding of what can work. Today I practiced in my yard with 7 and 4 gram lures on a Kuying 5' rod rated 1-7 g. I'm gett...
