Why don't you just go with the septon power grip knobs that come stock on the shimano chronarch reels? Those are my favorite knobs to date. Super comfortable and when wet it sticks better to your hands.

In my opinion, the most versatile rod in the Dobyns lineup is the 744 for lures 1/2oz and up. For everything up to 1/2oz, the 743 is the best option. I use my DX744 exclusively for jigs/heavy t-rigs.
