Re: Top Water rod for 1ozers
My OG Megabass XX Diablo works very well. Rated up to 1oz, not too fast for braid, and not too long.

Re: Line recommendation for topwater/jerkbait combo
13lb Armilo for fall and early spring jerkbaits. Switch to 15lb Armilo starting with the spawn for 1.5 squarebills and thru the summer for smaller topwaters. For larger topwaters on a more powerful rod, I use 30lb braid to CXX leader.

Re: ICAST 2019
Overall I’m somewhat disappointed. Over the last two ICASTs, I have not seen any new rods or reels that I would consider to be a worthwhile improvement over what I am currently using. Which suits me fine!

Aldebaran Spool Sizes
Does the USDM Aldebaran 51 have more line capacity than the JDM Aldebaran 31? The model #s suggest that it does, but Shimano’s specs make it hard to determine.

Re: Which braid for heavy jig set up?
Rod? Type & weight of jig? Cover? My rod is the Steez Frog rod. Football head 3/4 - 1.5 oz. Would also throw a paddletail swimbait every now and then. Cover from pretty open to medium cover. 16lb Sniper has a diameter of .33mm. 30lb braid is the bare minimum I would want to use in your situation. A...

Re: Differences w/ Chronarch G vs MGL??
The MGL spool weighs 13.5 grams, the G spool weighs 15.5. This and the paint color is the only difference, otherwise they are the exact same reel.

Re: 16 Met Spool Pin Removal
What size is that bearing under the spool pin? I know it’s a 3x10x4 on the palm side plate but I don’t know what size that “Silent Tune” bearing is.

Re: What line for NRX 852c?
I am using Sunline Xplasma Asegai in 16lb, with 3 to 6ft of .3mm fluoro leader material. Very happy with it, no guide issues using an Albright knot. But if I were using straight fluorocarbon I would opt for one of the limper better handling lines like Sniper or Tatsu in 10 or 12lb, and stay away fro...

Will the Hedgehog Spool Pin Remover Type R work on the 16 Met, or is there a better tool for this?
