Re: Your most versatile rod?
Answered this on another forum. St Croix LTB 7' MedFast. It's exactly what I want a medium rod to be, and has so many uses. I do have a lot of love for the MBR843 also, but my two LTB see more use than my two 843.

Re: Favorite Spinnerbait
War Eagle or Z-Man SlingBladeZ. Mostly double willow. SlingbladeZ have smaller blades than War Eagle, which makes a difference sometimes. Both are fishcatchers, though the Z-Man is more durable at the head. I have a pile of other brands in my garage where the small willow just wouldn't spin consiste...

I'm with Gary. LunkerLure just keeps producing even though I keep wasting money on other brands.

Re: what is the best one stop shop crankbait rod?
If I could only have one, no doubt CBR 845. I have both the cinnamon blank and the IMX Pro. Longer handle on the IMX Pro is much better for hard-pulling baits like a 6xd. I have thrown a 6XD for 3 days straight with these rods. Not ideal, and you'll be worn out but it can be done. For mid-divers and...

Re: best rod for?
I haven't found a better skipping rod than a 6-10 Falcon Cara Headturner. GLX MBR 843 skips pretty well too.
On a side note, the Z-Man CrosseyeZ Flip jig is fantastic for skipping. Has an extra wide Arky style head, wire-tied skirt and great baitkeeper.

You might also look at 6th Sense baits in the 4K Shad color. Fairly similar color scheme.

Re: Expride vs Jade Python for finesse
I have the 6-8 medium expride that I sometimes use for Ned rigs. May try it for shakyhead also this year. I don't know that the ML would be enough backbone for shakyhead, but would probably work well for Ned rig. Can't comment on the Orochi. I tend to prefer medium rods for Ned rig, and a fast or mo...

Re: Finesse spinning rods.. What's your first choice?
Like Hobey I fish smallmouth. I have and have used a ton in the past 35+ years of doing it and fish finesse (lighter than most) a ton. Impossible to pick one. I’ve got grub rods, 1/32 Ned rods, 1/16 oz Ned rods, 1/16 marabou rods, small tube rod, heavier tube rod on and on. I will say I would like ...

Thanks for the input Klinger. I'll be tearing it down this winter soon. Got a good spool to swap out and test.

Re: Best general purpose fishing line and brand?
Thank you for the replies, I was honestly hoping for a high end nylon that is similar in properties to fluro, so that I didn't sacrifice too much sensitivity. Some days I just want to bring 1 or 2 rods and throw what I want without feeling limited. Try P-line CXX. I think you will find it to be exa...

Re: Lucky Craft - TO Shad MIA?
I would be surprised if its been discontinued, but I don't have any direct knowledge. There are some new run baits dropping on ebay in that color. A few on seller Ilovehardbait. Seems like LC did some kind of reset, and just now getting baits back out there. BDS baits were thought to be discontinued...

Re: Braid to fluorocarbon
I just stick with the the back to back uni knot. Hasnt failed me in 15-16 years, and I can tied it quickly and easily on the water. Surgeon's knot is one I'm trying also for larger mono leaders to think braid. HAs promise and is easy to tie.
