Re: Megabass MH Texas Rig Rod
I would recommend the F4-76X7 Western Flip for light texas with 1/4 3/8 weights, for bit more hook setting power I would recommend the F5st-611X7 bearing Down Type-X. I have both rods and both are amazingly sensitive.

Re: Braid with leader for crankbaits
Yes, keep going back to my old rods with standard guides. The other option is FG knot but it's a pain to tie it and it will still rub.nd1225 wrote:Anyone have issues with micro guides when using leader?

Re: ZenMarket
I have no experience with ZenMarket but if it is like Buyee then you may not find out the shipping costs until they buy the item on your behalf and give you the bill. I agree, got burnt with extortionate shipping charges and there is no way to cancel or reverse. Rakuten is better and now they have ...

Re: Bfs line
I use a lot Duel Armoured F-Pro braid and JDM Super Fireline because it is hard body PE with FC leader. I been using BFS reels since 2013 and found that soft PE does not behave properly. I use a lot of straight FC Sunline Shooter BMS and Invisible. I fish a lot of narrow rivers and canals with veget...

Re: G. Loomis MBR 842 GLX
I have the MBR842 GLX as well. Mainly use it for spinnerbaits and bottom contact but I used it with squarebills, shallow cranks as well. Very versatile rod, had mine for at least 10 years, would never part with it.

Re: 17 Shimano Z-Pride
I used my friends Z-pride for a couple of casts and it's a nice reel, but I don't see much benefit over my Steez with the NRC001M and PG spools. I found the Z-pride to be not as comfortable to palm as the Steez. I think at this level it's down to brand preference, looks rather than major difference ...

Re: Mail Call
Finally got this handle installed...all I can say is Bigly (or Big League).. What! Phermone Cherry came to the US and stole Ike's Tokyo Rig? The Pheremone Cherry by Goober, marketed in Japan since 2016. Note the lack of swivels and split rings-not needed. Check out that Dolive Beaver, I can just en...

Thank you, great info.Teal101 wrote:They are standard like the Alphas. The magnet assembly makes a great swap into the Zonda as the logo is still visible with the clear sideplate and it allows for a better cast in my opinion and the use of the Cosugi spools in the Zonda.

Re: Alphas finesse spools
After using the ktf v2, cosugi works, and zonda spool, my recommendation would be the megabass route. It’s the easiest to find and offers great performance. I agree in principle with the hooligan. The only caveat I would say is that the Megabass Zonda spool performs very well in the Zonda since tha...

Megabass Alphas Ito
Does anyone know if the original Megabass Alphas Ito has stronger magnets like the Zonda vs the standard Alphas?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Megabass IS 71 hyper lariat
Thank you that is reassuring, still a great reel so I am just going to stick IS honeycomb spool back and continue using it for finesse.
Polfkish1 , I would have to choose again I would just get the new Steez TWS for distance.

Re: Megabass IS 71 hyper lariat
I know the last post is from 2011. I have been using this reel for a few years now with the IS honeycomb spool as a powerfinesse setup. Last weekend for the first time I put the original IS deep spool back and it came to me as a shock how limited the casting distance was. I was just wonderin...

Re: Educate me on high end JDM UL.
I had the Graphiteleader Finezza older version but sold it, I was not as crisp as I expected. I own 4 of the Evergreen Salty Sensation (yes you read it right :D ) from their range. I am looking to acquire another 2 versions. I only heard good things about the TIct rods but sticking to Evergreen. I’...
