Re: BPS Pro Qualifier 6.4:1

The PQ is definitely a very good value when they are on sale. I have four at this point and have never had a problem with any of them, even after fishing them almost daily for the last four years. The trick is to get the centrifugal brakes set right or they won't cast well. I open the side plate and...

Skip them both and buy a BPS Pro Qualifier. The Pro Qualifier is frequently on sale for $79.

Re: Curado G series? Fair shake?

call a curado a chronarch and charge $15 dollars more. sounds like an awesome idea. whom ever is in charge of their marketing should be shot. yeah the chronarch used to be 300 but it was heads above the curado. seems like they're devaluing the quality associated with the names in order to compete a...

Re: Curado G series? Fair shake?

But back to the point of the thread, is the G series getting a fair shake? Yes and no. From the enthusiast point of view, it is viewed as a step back. From Joe Fisherman's point of view though, it's a NEW Curado that costs less than the old one, so it's exciting that he can afford it more easily. S...

Re: Curado G series? Fair shake?

I think the problem is that Shimano set themselves up for an unfair comparison by calling the G model reel a Curado and expecting the consumer to be happy with less features (even though the price is now less). It's an expectations thing. Never before have they taken a popular model, removed feature...

Re: I've Never Owned a Baitcaster, What am I missing?

I think I will end up buying a baitcaster this year just to see what it's like. That is the only way to really find out. I was loving my spinning outfit for Bass until I tried a baitcaster. I haven't touched my spinning reel for Bass fishing in about five years now and I've purchased about five or ...

Re: NEW ABU GARCIA PRO MAX

For me, in that price range the BPS Pro Qualifier still rules. Its on sale for $89 right now. The Caenan is a non starter with its graphite frame. Read the TT review. No power under load because the frame flexes. I would also take a hard look at the Lew's Speed Spool in that price range.
