Re: Shorter rods and kayak fishing
I flipped forth back and forth and have now settled on at least 7' rods for me. The ability to get around the bow of my Propel 13 is very important to me, and after several years kayak fishing, I am just as accurate with a 7'6" rod as I am with a 6' rod. Just personal preference for me.

Re: Daiwa Silver Wolf SV 1016
I have one of those saved in eBay, but can't seem to pull the trigger. Specs look good, and the colors sell it for me, but that price though... Daiwa aus isnt exactly cheap... I get most of my gear overseas (Japan and US) but I've found one of these for au $300 (223 us I think) so thats why I'm con...

Re: New Steez TW ALUMINUM for 2017 !
Y2k88, did you go with the purple or red spool? I am happy with mine stock, but if I can squeeze some better performance out of it, I am all for it!

Re: First Look Inside the New, all ALUMINUM Daiwa Steez A TW 1016 Baitcasting Reel
So far I love it. After some tweaking I get great distance using 1/4 to 1/2 ounce. The reel feels super smooth and handles fish like a champ. I primarily fish salty inshore water and have not gotten a big enough one to really put it to the test.

You stole those rods! Great prices. Not sure which kistler model you were using, but you should feel an improvement in sensitivity.

Re: First Look Inside the New, all ALUMINUM Daiwa Steez A TW 1016 Baitcasting Reel
Got mine today and have already switched the handle out. I will get it out this weekend to play with it. This is my first Steez since I normally am a saltwater fisherman I could not use the magnesium version. I will say that so far the real feels awesome. We will see what happens after a couple of o...

Re: Rod and reel guidance
Tatula SV and a Dobyns 735 would be a great setup and should fall in your price range.
Re: Confused
If I am not mistaken, the size of spinning reels is based on the spool and not the actual size of the body. So in theory you could have a 3000 spool on a physically smaller body. I could be wrong, but this is the way I understand it to be.
