Thanks. I ended up with another alphas 800S 8.5 gear lol. I don’t think it will perform way better than regular alphas due to almost same spool weight.
Waiting, may be this manufacturer will produce it.

Re: Line on a spinning reel
Using backing or not really depends on what type of fish, for bass which typically no hard run, 40 yards cast plus 20-30 yards room for fight is plenty enough even with light drag setup. How full? with thin 4-6lb braid I add backing until 2/3 of spool then braid to about 3/4 full (typically of super...

Re: 2022 Shimano SLX DC XT 70
Still I’ve heard some complaints about 70MGL “k” gear gone bad as well. Some might come in and say they don’t have problem or just bearings (x-ship) issue. Believe me I did everything on my 70i before replacing with new gear to get it as smooth as before.

2022 Shimano SLX DC XT 70
After using these reels for awhile (right 6.2 and left 8.1). I can say this SLX DC XT 70 is pretty good. Modified 200i frame to be as comparable to Curado 70. The reel can cast 1/15 Ned lockz + TRD a good distance with no fussed even in the wind using 15lb 832 braid. It is also capable of heavier lu...

Re: Have You ever seen stupid fisherman like this???
I wouldn’t say “stupid” but more like using wrong gear for wrong job. He set hook hard with dominant hand pulling on handle. The bass one XT low tiers Shimano plastic handle side plate not gonna last this kind of abusive. I have seen mid tier spinning reel handle got bended because using handle to f...

That's a bit too blingy for me. Anyone have a link to Ray's? I searched on Alie and pulled up car door handles and road bike handlebars. Re: Calcutta Conquest handle recommendation
For Shimano might as well go with Gomexus handle and knob. There is light aluminum golden one (from China) that might fit CQ very well.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Any long cast type spool for Alphas SV TW 800? I don’t want BFS spool (already have Ray 32mm) but capacity close to SLP works SV 800S spool or 6-8lb mono/fc ~75yds? Hello, Friend! Yesterday I talked about the same with the Chinese about the spool for Tatula 80 (showed above) and asked if they would...

Re: Problem with JDM reel.
I guess this reel is a keeper until the gear goes south I guess. It casts surprising far with 12lb sunline sniper FC mode dial 2 still need to thumb when lure hit water. I think it cast further than Alphas SV TW and not a lot of thumb. It casts even better than my CQ 101 DC. How about with light wei...

Re: Any Zillion SVTW that could be upgraded?
The one is picture is Ray’s knob. You have to be careful with color parts from different brand especially purple. They are different tone as you can see the spool tension knob is darker than star drag.

Re: Quick 95mm handle question
I got Ray’s carbon handle 95mm to replace handle on zillion HD (save weight) not SV TW. Just be careful not all handle can be used with Daiwa Knob. I think Gomexus handle would not fit Daiwa knobs, you would have to stay with its or Shimano knob as well as some cheap handle from China.

Re: Any Zillion SVTW that could be upgraded?
You don’t really need to upgrade Zillion SV TW. If you want to add more versatile, you can get different spool like shallow spool for lighter weight. You can also switch to carbon handle to even save more weight or make it longer. As far as color, this is mine. I have 3 spools for this reel, stock s...

Tatsu vs FC Sniper.
I’m not a FC guy and only have a few reels with FC. I normally use 10lb Red label for most everything and Abazx 12 and 15lb for jobs that need abrasion resistance like Jig. Recently I got a reel spooled with Tatsu. I use the reel for weightless stuffs and kind of like it. Pretty sensitive and very m...
