Re: Jackson Super Trickster STC-73xxx The Beast Killer

I emailed them directly about selling to the states a few months ago.. they emailed me once and thats it.. never got a response back I know Daiwa and Shimano and such have been in the US for years, but you'd think with the popularity of JDM equipment over here right now more companies would be look...

My New PopMax

Red Gill Female PopMax. This is my first PopMax and I pretty much just bought it cos of the colors. Not gonna lie about that one. I guess you could say I buy all of my MB baits cos of the colors, but so far, other than this one, I've stuck to the colors that work best where we fish. I just couldn't ...

Jackson Super Trickster STC-73xxx The Beast Killer

Anybody have any experience with these rods in general and this one in particular? I'm a style whore and I like bright flashy colors and that's what initially caught my eye. Found this STC-73xxx model with a max lure rating of 7oz and I thought about snagging one for a swimbait rod. MSRP on it is on...

Re: JerryC : Feedback Request Topic

Took a chance on a new guy with no rep when he didn't have to do it. Worked a nice deal with me and went out of his way to help me get a rod I really wanted. Very nice and good with the communication. Answered all my typical noob questions every time I had one. Couldn't ask for a better guy to deal ...

Re: MB Rod and Reel Combo

I appreciate all the replies. I've been thinking about the gear ratio deal and two things come to mind. The first is that we fish a lot of topwaters and the second is that deep cranking for us means no more than about 15-18ft and honestly we've never had much luck doing it. We have caught a bunch of...

Kawashi Mikey and Deps Lo-Fi

I was buying some soft plastics from an eBay store in Japan earlier and it seemed a shame to pay the shipping for just one pack of plastics so I looked and they had a Kawashi Mikey in one of those Japan only colors I liked so I snagged it too. I've read some about the Mikey in general and been wanti...

Re: MB Rod and Reel Combo

Well the Lin Mars is a 5.5:1 ratio, while the Zarconia is a 6.3:1, just FYI. So it depends on your gear ratio preference there. Personally, I'd go towards the Zarconia for what you described. I find it easier to slow down than to speed up. Secondly, I like the IS, especially for a bit of a shorter ...

MB Rod and Reel Combo

So if a fellow was gonna find an old school slant bridge White Python to throw swimbaits, big cranks, and big topwaters and wanted to put a Lin10 Mars or a Lin10C Zirconia on it, is one a better choice than the other? I also just picked up a F5-69DG Chimera and I've gotta find a reel for it. Leaning...

Re: Anybody ever added weight to an unweighted swimbait hook

Thanks for the tips. I did think about the rubber core egg sinker, but I wasn't sure if it would work on such a big hook. I didn't know about the weight with the teeth and suspend strips never occurred to me. I'll hafta buy a few of each and play around with em cos I think I'm gonna keep the unweigh...

Thanks for idea. Not sure I can find the wire by in the morning, but definitely gonna file that one away.

Anybody ever added weight to an unweighted swimbait hook?

I screwed up when I ordered and got the unweighted hooks. I know I can always return em, but if there's a way to add a bit of weight that will make it function properly I'm all for it. Going out tomorrow and I've only got one weighted hook left in that size and I'd like to have a spare. The hook in ...

Re: Import Duties on Used JDM Rods and Reels?

depends if you are lucky or not. i was hit with $75 for a $300 reel once. the other 6 times i've had no problem with old reels. New reels i've been hot 2 times out of 5. Really? Wow. I would've figured whichever way it went it would at least be consistent. I'm not opposed to paying a fee if there i...

Oh yeah I know, but there's ways around that. That's why I'm intersted to find out about the import duties.
