Re: Megabass Hard Bait Collections?
Where are you ordering your teaser hooks from? Only place I've found them is overseas and they only had the #10s in stock. Hey, these sites don't like words like "Megabass" in the search engines sometimes. Give "Teaser" a try. Excellent shipping and has arrived to my house in Canada in 3-6 days eve...

Re: Dragon Call Black Jungle???
Bump this up to the top. I'd be interested to hear from somebody that's fished it as well. I'd also like to hear from somebody fishing the DragonCall Flouro.

Swimbait rod blank
I'm looking for suggestions on a blank for a swimbait rod that gets me into the 8-10oz range on the lure rating. I went back through two years or so of posts and most of the info I found was older and for lighter weights. I know Phenix makes a blank that goes up to 8oz, but I didn't see any posts ab...

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
Another rod I haven't considered is the new Leviathan in the XX series. I may wait a bit til I see some reports from some people who've fished it before I make my decision. It's certainly got the right specs. Starting at 1/2 oz and going up to 8oz it looks more comparable to the SRD than the TD78X. ...

Basscatcher99 wrote:What is the TS78x?
It's a 7'8" heavy action with a lure rating from 4-10 oz. It's called the Destroyer TS78X, but I don't think it's part of an existing lineup like the Phase 3, ect.

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
Thanks for the all the info on the two rods. I went back and looked at the weights on the baits that I want to throw and there's more in the 2-4oz range than in the 4+oz range. There were only one or two on my list over 8oz and neither is something I can't live without. I went back and read the TT r...

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
I consider a longer rod 7'6"+ a requirement for swimbait fishing with anything over 2oz. This would shorten your list a lot for me. I currently have both the Super Red Demon on your list as well as a TS78X and like them both for Topwater type swimbaits. If you are just going to have one setup for t...

Does that hold true for the new WP as well?Tokugawa wrote:The Monoblock has plenty of power. I rarely go over 2.5 oz with the WP. The initial TT review was spot on...4oz is a bit overstated.

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
Do you have all of the DG rods on the list? And out of the ones you have which one would you keep if you could only have one?kyty wrote:I've got almost all of the rods you have listed and they are all very nice. Don't know what I would recommend though. Tough choices.

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
What is your price range? And is it only going to be a topwater rod or do you need a little versatility or total versatility? Whatever I buy will be used and I'm not looking for a shelf queen so I'm not worried about the price. It'll be for topwaters and big swimbaits. The part I can't decide at th...

MB rod for heavy baits
I was planning on adding another cranking rod next, but after some thinking I decided a big bait rod for topwaters and swimbaits makes more sense. I don't have a rod that fits that description and I think having the ability to throw big topwater baits when it warms up will help me catch more fish th...

Re: New school ito vs Old school ito
Never fished any of the four, but I'd take the old rod and the new reel. The slant bridge WP is the reason I noticed MB in the first place and now I have three great rods because of it. For me it just doesn't get any better than the WP SB. It's the epitome of fishing with style. As far as the reel I...

It was also the first fish on my new GTZ so I was kinda psyched. It ain't a green fish, but they weren't biting. He was nice for a white, about 3lbs. We ended up...

Re: All Over But The Cryin'
yea no bad, but nail polish is def not the way to go... Oh I know, but I just didn't care. I can always get more blanks. It was my day off, we couldn't go fishing and nail polish was my only option besides buying a bunch of craft paint that probably wouldn't have been any better and would've defini...
