Re: Flouro Light line, heavy line same knot?
I've been doing some research on the flouro lines and it seems like the stretchier the line the better the knot strength. The Toray super hard looks like the best mix of low stretch and decent knot strength. I think a soft rod would be better for the low stretch line. Has anyone tried the Toray? Ho...

Re: NRX 873 or 894
I have another makers 873, and it's perfect for light jigs and fat Ikas. It is a med. heavy with an extra fast tip, and it casts 3/8 oz. stuff great, but I can still set the hook at distance with 12lb fluoro and a med. wire hook, like the VMC standard EWG worm hook, http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/VM...

Re: bigger spool for core 51mg7?
When I fish from shore, I use mono so it doesn't get stuck down between my lure and me, since it floats.

Re: Envy Black and Gander GSX Elite
Thanks. I'll check out the heavy.
Re: Fat Ika
I use both the 4/0 and the 5/0. I ordered both when I was trying them for the first time. The 5/0 puts the hook point farther down near the bottom, which I like.

Re: Envy Black and Gander GSX Elite
While you're explaining rod design, can you tell me why it seems to be hard to build a rod with and extra fast tip and a solid backbone, like a 734 cef? In your Black Omen $100 line, most of the heavy rods say fast tip, except the 7/11 heavy. Is it difficult, and therefore more expensive, to transit...

Re: medium/ fast action for topwater including buzzbaits?
If you can, borrow one and try it with whatever you want to throw. Rick Clunn used the same med. heavy rod for all his applications for years by increasing the amount of line he had out for lighter lures. He even said it was dangerous to have someone else in the boat when he was casting lighter stuf...
Re: Fat Ika
I've used the Fat Ika for years. I used to skin hook them on a lite wire Gamakatsu 5/0 EWG hook, but then I found the Mustad Megalite EWG hooks. Their 4/0 had a deep enough bite to let me pass the hook through the center, skin hook it on the other side, and still have plenty of hook bite to move the...

Re: Good news for Keitech fans
The old ones were made with some kind of Elaztec material that lasted forever. Until it came in contact with PVC plastic baits.
Do you think they changed their material because of this?

It's always about the money, and who controls it.
My mother's family was from the Ukraine. They've been changing sides/countries forever. Whatever the people in the Crimea want is what should happen, and no one expected Russia to give up their warm water port, did they?

Yup,ya favourite cars are those with unassisted brakes and steering Power rack and pinion and power assisted brakes, along with ABS is welcome...traction control and yaw control I find to be generally obtrusive. Anyway, after 25 pages, I am starting to think about obtaining a 13 Fishing reel! Lol! ...

Looks like a Shimano Vanquish. http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx109/mcyl812/Mobile%20Uploads/3B3F5461-D23F-421F-BCA3-B0A06CDBDB1B_zpswcvasezd.jpg I think that's a Gromyko 1500 C :-k, the improved 2014 model with the new potato gearing first seen on their Shevardnadze 1401 A.
