Re: Gunfish 75
After my original post at the top of this thread I purchased a 75 and have fished it on several occasions. I found the 75 does NOT walk as easily as the 95. It does cast well but sits very low in the water and will run submerged if it is walked quickly. Heddon's Zara Spook Puppy is easier to walk th...

Re: lucky craft gunfish which size and color ?
95... I throw a baby bluegill color but I don't believe color in top-water is nearly as important as action or size. I occasionally throw a 75 size but it doesn't walk as well as the 95.

Re: 832 Ghost?
And having your bright white fishing line turn the dingy color of the water you're fishing in is a bad thing???210amatuerangler wrote:If it's anything like Spiderwire Invisibraid, don't fish it in stained water unless you want that pretty white to turn awful colors.

Re: Berkley NanoFil
If you are backlash or overrun prone. The line's strength would be drastically compromised after picking it out. Much worse than what happens to braid. I don't know if there is any credibility to these thoughts but: Would the strengths of NanoFil (slipperiness) be less important on a baitcasting ro...

Re: Berkley NanoFil
Nice to know that 9 wraps on NanoFil side may do the trick... I'd still leave a long tag. I've gotten to like the Alberto for several reasons. It's very thin and goes through the guides as easily as any knot I've used. The braid encapsulates and protects the mono from abrasion and allows me to clip ...

Re: Berkley NanoFil
Which do you like best? Hmmm... :-k I'm still getting comfortable with both, but the lighter the presentation the more I like the NanoFil. When fishing in weeds I like the 832. I certainly prefer the hi-vis color I'm using in the 832 to the white NanoFil. I'm not entirely confident in the knot stre...

Re: Berkley NanoFil
Basslayer... I've been fishing 10lb NanoFil along side both 10lb Sufix 832 and 10lb Fireline. Without any hesitation I'll tell you that the 832 and Fireline are more similar to each other than NanoFil is to Fireline. There are still some peculiarities to NanoFil that I'm trying to get used to, but I...

Re: Berkley NanoFil
Has anybody been using 10lb or 12lb Nanofil on a light duty baitcaster? I'd like your impressions.

Re: Nanofil.....knots.....
ScoobyDoo... I take a pragmatic view in my fishing and expect enough knot strength to catch large smallmouth bass with. A garage test of simple 5 wrap up and 5 wrap down Alberto knots using 10lb Nanofil and 8lb Trilene fluorocarbon yielded slipping knot results when pulled with significantly more fo...

Re: Berkley NanoFil
I just ordered a spool of 10lb Sufix 832 to try along side of the 10lb NanoFil on a couple of spinning reels. Is there anyone who has already done this comparison who wishes to share their impressions?

Re: Berkley NanoFil
I got back out on water Sunday mid-day to spend a little more time with the 10lb Nanofil. I was particularly interested to see how it behaved in a twisting situation. My long-time staple, Fireline, handles twisting in-line spinners very well... so... I tied on a Blue Fox #3 in-line spinner and spent...
