I feel the metanium is definitely the best all around choice out of the 3 listed. I think it would excel in the applications listed. Not knocking the aldebaran, but I just think the metanium is a better all around choice.

Another vote for the 893. I also agree about the 894, especially for larger baits and if fishing cover or grass.

Same here, brass tends to be smoother over time. But with my aluminum geared reels, I make sure to re-grease more often. I prefer brass geared reels, but I must say I love my metaniums (aluminum).
