Re: Daiwa bearing oil

I believe their blue needle oil is a thicker viscosity. The small red bottle of oil that came with the older reels was supposed to be meant for the spool bearings only from what I remember reading in the manual many years ago. Some people like a heavier oil to slow down a spool or the red to speed ...

Re: Pixy drag.

There is no line on the spool to slip. I went to spool line when I dicovered there was no drag pressure even when tightened up as far as I dared. So it went to Ian for repair, upgrades and tuning. Apparently someone had converted the drag into a single disc type dartanium drag. Ian said there were ...

Re: Daiwa bearing oil

What is the difference between the blue oil and the pink oil that comes with Daiwa reels? i have noticed no significant difference between the blue, red, or clear daiwa oils, that come in the tiny bottles with most high end daiwa reels. they all seem pretty fast, and to last for a pretty decent amo...

Re: Reel grease

Normally I use a good marine grease on my reels for the gears and stuff. How many of you use your Cals or Shimano Star drag grease on gear parts of your reels. I have heard it's pretty good, but wasn't sure of the longevity. i personally do not like drag grease for anything other than drag...i have...

Re: Geary Steez

I bought a 2nd hand Steez Limited from Ichiban and the retrieve is geary. I believe one of the teeth may be screwed up because I feel a thunk throughout the whole reel as the main gear goes round and round. Even once the 'thunking' is fixed I still think the reel is going to bea little geary in gen...

Re: Whats wrong with this picture?

Can you see what I did here and do you think it will help with a wild spool? Steez side plate http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h267/Mang_Vue/IMAG0532_zpsc5pg8ru0.jpg give it a go to see if it will work! FYI: the og Steez 100SHA set plate and magnet holder both use slightly thicker magnets. as well...

Re: Shimano carbontex to Tdz

Hi guys, Will be going on a surprise fishing trip this weekend and planning to use my TDZ. I ordered a set of carbontex drags for it but it will arrive on Monday. I have a few extra carbontex washers for shimano casters and was thinking if they might work. I checked the thickness and looks like the...

Re: Zillion PE fast levelwind

Hi, all. regarding Zillion PE fast levelwind tecnology, is because of the wom shaft or the small plastic drive gear? It's possible swap it to the 1st Gen Zillion for braided line fishing? Thanks. it is a combinations of three things, i believe...the tracks for the pawl are cut a little bit longer, ...

Re: stripped screw handle

1/16" drill bit and a #1 size extractor....the 1/16" drill bit is a little smaller than the recommended 3/32, so you do not have to drill in as far before the extractor will catch
