It's going to have to be in the spring sometime my friend...I have a few spinning reels to get maintenance done on and one to purchase as well. It's singles day on AliExpress and a spinning reel is calling your name I'll check it out...I'm really interested in the 23 Exsence XR with the lower gear ...

How's the casting distance on these? Do they feel choked off? I don’t think so. I finally tried a tatula and think the distance is fine. If anything, I find that the latest tatula requires a bit more care than the effortless free floating sv spools in zillions, etc, particularly against the wind. T...

For what it's worth, I've been able to fish the Steez AGS "Finesse Game Special" a bit recently and it is indeed a great casting finesse rod. I didn't have any issues maintaining bottom contact with 1/8oz heads + worm in 18 feet of water, but on deep offshore spots (22-25 feet) I'll go to a 3/16oz ...
