Re: Thick 10" Worms

I like the 10" ribbon hinge worm from Powerteam lures. It's a big-fish bait for sure! The body is a little thicker than the power worm... =D>

Re: Shimano Curado 201e7 problems

Open the reel back up and remove the Anti-Reverse Pawl (BNT2404). If that fixes the noise, there's your problem. http://fish.shimano.com/media/fishing/SAC/techdocs/en/Low_Profile/09CU201E7_v1_m56577569830654408.pdf You can completely remove it and the reel with funciton fine, given that your anti r...

Re: Shimano Scorpion free spool issue!

OK - Looked a the reel last night again... The play seems to be where the pinion gear meets the plastic collar. Excessive play at that junction. I went ahead and ordered a new pinion gear, drive gear and collar from Shimano and i'm going to see if that helps my situation. Not sure it will, but its w...

Re: Shimano Scorpion free spool issue!

Thanks y2k... I appreciate the input! The gears mesh just fine, the "not lining up" part of my problem is, the top of the pinion gear isn't flush with the drive gear. Take your picture for example. You see how they are flush with each other? in mine the pinion gear lifts up a little higher than the ...

Re: Shimano Scorpion free spool issue!

... I really don't think that the problem is with the tension knob adjustment, simply for the fact that the free spool sucks while the reel is in horizontal position... i tend to agree given the freespool time. the internals look in great shape w/ hardly any wear... did the gears engage before you ...

Re: Shimano Scorpion free spool issue!

Free spooling was tested palming side down... As its freespooling, if i turn a quarter turn to me so the spool is horizontal to the ground and open facing me, I hear the spool griding to a halt... the bearings should support the shaft even in this position without the tension knob even installed. T...

Re: Shimano Scorpion free spool issue!

When you said 17 sec free spool for vertical do you mean vertical from palming side or from handle side? If you get good free spool when the reel is laying with the palming side down the cast control could be set too loose and cause the spool to rub against the frame. Free spooling was tested palmi...

zenbassr wrote:cant tell from these angles if the yoke (BNT-1519) is installed upside down? did the thumb bar depress/re-engage ok before the reel was taken apart?
The yoke is definitely installed correctly. That was the first thing I thought it was when I first noticed it wasn't lined up.

I'll take some pictures tonight and post em up. I can't figure out what's going on. I'm thinking the wrong pinion gear was put in this reel at some point and is messing up the tolerances a bit. Maybe I'm way off, too...
