Re: "Mag" BFS Casting Rod Input
Hi all, I am in the same boat. Looking for a BFS rod that I can throw true 1/16th lures on for bass fishing. Looking at the three following models: MS-X CASTING RODS FRESHWATER MS-X Length & Power: 6'5''+L $274.99 $274.99 CORZZA CASTING RODS FRESHWATER CORZZA Length & Power: 6'5''+UL $169.99 $169.9...

Me too I got a better than new Alphas AIR I may need a home for i...

Re: "Mag" BFS Casting Rod Input
The blank on the MS-X is noticeably better than that of the Corzza. I can't speak on the Speedstyles, but I believe they were built for strength. Thanks! Question is now to get the 1/32 or the 1/16 version of the MS-X. I really would like to throw true 1/16 lures and just not sure how about the rod...

Re: Which BFS reel: Conquest vs Aldebaran vs SV103 (with BFS spool)
What dont you like about the scorpion? SInce it is basically a curado 70, and i have several i love, just wondering what the issue is. I have a SV105 and love it. Cast 1/8" swim baits all day. Also have a basic tatula ct with a rays spool, and it cast slightly farther than the sv105 some days. Also...

Re: Which BFS reel: Conquest vs Aldebaran vs SV103 (with BFS spool)
Interesting this guy here seems to be able to use a regular Conquest 100 for BFS fishing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbM5zxzBJKo One of my friends has one and he can cast light cranks and smallish jigs. I was surprised by its ability. Not quite a BFS reel but, a surprisingly versatile caster.

Re: 852c By any other name?
I got only 1 NRX 852. It's a versatile rod. Jerkbaits, topwater, worms, small jigs...whatever. It's definitely a rod that could be the only one you bring with you, at least up north. Curious about your reel and line. I have one and I want to use it as best I can. Granted I live in northern Michigan...

Re: "Mag" BFS Casting Rod Input
Be careful with supposed low range limits of rods. Take their rating with a grain of salt. I' find any rod rated to throw 1/8 oz on the low end and rated to throw over 3/8 on the top end HIGHLY suspect. Most likely the 1/8 oz low end rating is bogus. My Volkey 68L is rated for 1/16 and there is no ...

Jackall Panicra
Rapala UL series
Tungsten jig heads plus plastic (ice fishing tackle)
All the above are killer on panfish. Fun too when using BFS

Re: Dock skipping setup
I use a Zillion SV TW 9.1 with a custom 7'6" St. Croix Legend Elite Medium Heavy Moderate Fast. It works pretty good. That is my jig rod. If I were to have a designated skip rod, I'd use a shorter rod, like 7ft-7'3". The SV spool makes a difference. Just make sure you have a rod where the bait loads...

Re: Need Input on Versatile / All Purpose Crankbait Rod
Where do you live? I live in northern Michigan and I use the 7ft Steez Fle-x-Lite for the uses you mentioned. If you live where the bug ones are OR, you fish for pike or other species, I'd go heavier. Graphite will be more versatile. You could use it for whatever else as well. A medium fast graphite...

Re: Tatula TW SV vs Curado 70hg
The Tatula SV TW will get you controlled casting. The Curado will get you more distance. The Tatula is found at much better prices. The only thing I would not do with the Tatula would be deep crankbaits or other true long cast techniques. Other than that, I'd use the Tatula SV TW. Super reel for the...
