Re: Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool
It's rather straight forward, just don't loose the retainer clip and disassemble it all in a clear plastic bag to catch any jettisoned parts. How it happens... Chinsy plastic, coupled with shear forces and a cup that both acts against rotation forces and magnets - possible it grabs somewhere at som...

Ok for sure, thanksTommyG wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2020 3:41 amWhen you take the spool apart, work inside a plastic bag, those small parts are prone to try and get away.

Re: Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool
While it's cheap. I used the image only - try to buy from Daiwa or someone else other than China... I agree, receiving something from China is literally what I’m trying to avoid these days. That being said, the parts Daiwa or someone else other than China use obviously got them from China. The ship...

Re: Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool
Here's a thread that explains it a bit more. http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?t=79390 Ok perfect, thanks! Wish there was a video considering I have never done anything like this before. I’m sure it’s not rocket science but not knowing where things go after they fly off might be an issue. Lol...

Re: Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool
Wow, ok thank you for this!
How does this even happen?
The reply in the other thread said it can be a pain to change out if your not handy.
I mean, I’m handy with other things but never worked on a reel. Do I need specific tools to fix this?
How much of a pain are we talking here?

Plastic broken piece inside SV Spool
Hey Guys, So I noticed my Steez SV103XS was reeling kind of stiff. I then noticed the sound of something broken or moving inside. I opened it up and 2 small white pieces fell out, after examining, I realized they broke off the inside part of the SV Spool and don’t know how it could have happened. I ...

Re: Info on a Megabass Lin 258 needed please
I think the Lin 258 is too much reel for the Whipsnake... If you want to spend that kind of money, I'd look at the latest Stella of Exist ... Or if you're heart is set on the Lin 258, get something like the NRX 822DSR .... If you're set on Megabass with Megabass, match the Lin 258 up with the Oroch...

Re: Info on a Megabass Lin 258 needed please
Perhaps I'm a bit biased at this point after a streak of disappointments with Daiwa spinning reels. This reel will make you stand out from the crowd, which could be worth more than the Megabass premium to you. Personally, I'd take a 2019 Vanquish 2500S HG. It is a whopping 3 ounces lighter and come...

Re: Info on a Megabass Lin 258 needed please
Personally, I'd advise against Megabass spinning reels if you're looking for a more functional piece. You're paying a premium for the name and pimped up looks of a moderately upgraded Daiwa. For that price, I would prefer a Shimano Vanquish or Stella. Both excellent performers in every department a...

Re: Info on a Megabass Lin 258 needed please
Question does make sense. In my mind it’s more versatile than specialized for ultra finesse. You might get an another opinion because I would not consider myself a finesse specialist. Got it! After researching and trying to get opinions from people who have or had one, they all lean towards more ve...

Re: Info on a Megabass Lin 258 needed please
I’m in the market for a Megabass Lin 258 and was wondering if anyone has some feedback on it. I’ve read Megabass spinning reels aren’t as good in general but the Lin 258 would be the best offered. I only use my spinning gear for drop shots and light finesse and would be pairing it up with an Orochi...

Re: Best Megabass Topwater rods?
You bet. I agree with you on the soft tip being a help for the take but it can also hinder working a certain top water too if its too soft. I know MB had top water in mind for both rods so I don't think you can go wrong. Destroyers are really nice. Very true, cant go wrong with any Destroyer. Thank...
