Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity
I had one metanium 20 that went through 3 gear sets from Shimano. I loved the reel but it was disappointing, I have a conquest 400 for swimbaits with micro module and that seems to be the only reel that has seemed to somewhat last without gear swapping. Standard Daiwa gears are just fine and are jus...

Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity
The old zillions were money that’s for sure. My steez sv tws are smooth as glass after tons of use and they feel almost identical to the smoothness of the current hyper drive steez limited I have.

Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity
The 20 metaniums I had all went geary and grindy even after new gear sets. Caught lots of fish but those mico module gears just have no durability.

Re: Daiwa Zillion G 1000 Gear Longevity
I bought two a while back, one of them jdm model with the aluminum gear and the other American with the brass gear. The us model got rough fast which surprised me but the jdm model is still butter. I swapped the jdm gear into my steez Ct 70 and it’s silky smooth. I think I’ll order the aluminum set ...

Re: Alphas Air Tw upgraded bearings..
The roros in the stock spool for alphas air or gekkabijin manages very well and pretty smooth flat casting with minimal effort. The stock spools are lighter in those reels than the alphas Ct and millionaire ct, maybe that’s the difference

Re: Alphas Air Tw upgraded bearings..
Decided to try a pair of the Roro ceramic ST bearings and they are noticeably quieter and smoother than the stock bearings in the alphas air tw. I guess I got lucky , still waiting for tackle trap to get some more sizes in for the hedgehog red air bfs in to try those as well. For $20 a pair I’m pret...

Re: 6lb Samurai Hidden concept.
No worries, I appreciate the feedback. I use the standard samurai in 12 and 14 and works well but I bought a 1000yard spool of the 6lb and wanted to see if it was as good as the other sizes in the lineup.

Re: Expected shipping time
I just ordered a rod from jdm tackle heaven today and was looking for reviews of that shop. Glad to hear they are quick at shipping just hoping they don’t send me email with an out of stock issue.

Re: Alphas Air Tw upgraded bearings..
That’s unfortunate, I’ve never really had issues with hedgehog bearings. The ZR’s from hedgehog have been superb for my 1/4 to 1/2 needs. My favorite of all time are the original Zpi SIC bearings man those things were quiet and glassy smooth on the cast.

Re: Steez CT SV 70 vs Alphas CT SV 70
The steez ct out of the box was super smooth but after years of use and tons of fish it eventually gave out and the gears became rough. Tim mentioned to me to put some aluminum zillion G gears since they drop straight in and wow it feels like I’m reeling air. Puts the stock gear set to shame In my o...
