Re: Okuma Serrano

I also bought the Cayenne. I think it is a great reel for the money. However, I set mine at 6 and still had some overruns with lighter baits. With heavier baits I had absolutely no issues. Even setting the brakes at 6, it casts further than the Curado E.

I bought 3 Smokes in the 150 version. Couldn't agree more with the review. Great job on the review TT.

Re: Calcutta Conquest or Calcutta Conquest TE?

ConQuest has a clicker on the drag and cast control, forged drag star wheel and handle, and a 10 on the cool factor. 4 bearing handle, can you say smooth, a ConQuest will last U a lifetime. What he said. I have a 100 model and was surprised how powerful the reel feels on retrieve. Nothing seems to ...

Re: D7 vs. Premier vs. Patriach

I own or have owned the Chronarch (D5 and D7 models), Revo Premier (2010 versions), and the Patriarch XT. Out of these, the Chronarch performed (a bit farther caster and hard to backlash) slightly better than the Revo Premier and Patriarch XT. The Chronarch is however larger and heavier than the oth...

Re: How's your smoke holding up?

I own 3 of the 150 models, but have only used two (one still in the box). Each used about 2 dozen times. Too soon to tell but no issues whatsoever so far.

Re: Ripping out a hook from someones hand... Yea, what it sa

I was fishing with my son who was 10 at the time. It was hot, we were wade fishing in shorts. Long-story short-he hooked me in the nut sack with a treble. I went to the emergency room and sat there for over an hour. I finally told them I felt like I was going to faint and they took me back and got i...

Re: Pflueger Patriarch Casting Reels

The Patriarch XT is the best deal going. It performs as well as reels costing a hundred dollars (+) more. In addition, you will be hard pressed to find a reel that will out cast it.

Re: Pfleuger Patriach. To XT or not to XT.

The Patriarch XT is a great reel. The drag is powerful and smooth. The reel casts very far and under control. The reel is small and light. Now all it has to do is last 5+ years without breakdown. It is the best deal going in my opinion. I have TD-Zs, Steez, Itos, Pixillas, and zillions. The performa...

Why change a good thing? The XT is absolutely the best deal going.
