Re: Phenix k2 blanks now sanded
as Mattman says, we always listen to customer feedback. And the word coming from custom builders was please sand the blanks. So, They are now being sanded. I love the look of the unsanded myself. But for workability, well, thats where its at.

Re: Phenix K2 TX-736-C anyone build this blank?
The 736 is one of Harry Chang's #1 builds. I cant tell you how many he has built. He brought one to a show and told me to pull on it! I pulled it like it was a salt water rod and was amazed at its strength. I would PM him on here and see what he thinks of it as a jig rod. I know he builds most of th...

Re: Off the shelf drop shot rod?
My first choice would be the Phenix MBX 700M but it is a little over your price point. http://www.phenixrods.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=5 My second choice which is more like what you described with the softer tip will save you some money for a better reel with a good drag is the Phenix M1 72M. ...

Re: Blank for Drop Shot
Jacob, I recommend the MBX S700M or S706M! I myself use the 706 because I like the longer rod for drop shotting. One reason is the hook set on a drop shot is more of a sweep and wined, not a power set, therefore the longer rod takes up nor line. The second reason is drop shotting is a light line tec...

Re: Deep Crankbait Rod
I use the Phenix X13 for the exact cranks you described. It works great with the SK10 as well. The only thing I hate about some of those super deep cranks is I wish I had an electric reel for when your trying to get back up to the boat for another cast! LOL work out!!
Re: Best rod
Phenix M1. Very light and sensitive. Nano resins, SiC guides, great ballance! All for $159-189.00

Re: Phenix M1?
I think you would be happier with the 73MH. It is a stiffer tip then the 72H. The rod itself is extremely light weight and sensitive. The construction is very similar to that of the M1 bass rod. The handle on the ISM1 is also a bit longer than that of the 72H which I'm sure will help you with some l...

Re: What is hands down the MOST...
Man I shouldn't post this,,,, but what the heck. At the FLW cup we had just received 6 new and different designs of the K2 production rod. Some had EVA, some had cork and some had a blend of different corks. We are in the process of narrowing it down to what is going to be the stock K2 production ro...

Re: Phenix M1?
Can you be more specific on your inshore fishery? The Phenix M1 is one of the most popular sellers for the Texas/Gulf coast fisheries for reds and trout more of the ML and M series. However the Florida side of the gulf coast likes a slightly heavier rod like the 72H and heavier. For the Southern Cal...

Re: Help with new rod
I would take a look at the Phenix Recon 744 or 714. Extremely light rod, great sensitivity and very well balanced! And it looks great too!!
