Re: The best spinning rod?
Right now as n current I think the Phenix UMBX is the best out there! Great blanks,Fuji SiC guides, very comfortable and unique (beautiful) handle!! http://www.phenixrods.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=5 Once the new T46 rods come out it will be hard to imagine anything even coming close to them wi...

Re: Super Light Flipping Setup
For me, when I want to do some light flipping and pitching I use the Phenix Ultra MBX 707H. its perfect length 7'7" and super light. Yet it has plenty of muscle when needed. I pair mine with the Core 101. In fact, I have 4 of them and rarely do I pick up my actual flipping sticks anymore, except whe...

Re: light weight glass blanks?
The Phenix XG1-G700 7' glass blank weighs in at about 2.7 oz I would imagine someone could build it out under or close to 4 oz! Retail on the blank is about $70.00!

Re: Which rod manufacturer uses the BEST blanks?
G Loomis owned the blank market for a number of years! Since Shimanos decision to stop selling Loomis blanks the Phenix Blank sales locally and internationally have exploded beyond what you would ever believe. We are now exporting blanks and proprietory rods in 14 different countries!! And it's grow...
Re: PHENIX
My opinion, get the regular MBX. Unless you realy like burlwood, it saves about $30.00 and like you said, same blank, guides. Too, I like the look better with the EVA, rubber cork, and checker pattern better!

The 800h is a STICK! I throw big baits with it hear on the California Delta for stripers. The other rods you may want to look at if your talking salt is the Phenix Inshore Assasin Hybrid series. I'm not sure if Robert and Liwei had that series there. But you can check them out online! Vince Borges V...

On the delta and clear lake you get stuff like cotton willow floties that stick to braid and make a mess of the reel line guide. That's what i see happ...

It's not a cellophane, the finish is actually lassored onto the rod! Got lucky! I didn't know they would be selling them there.
