Re: Digitaka rod shipping expense

You're not gonna get free shipping on a 1-piece rod from Japan unless you get it on eBay (and usually shipping is baked in the price).

$25 is decent, not great but not terrible either.

Re: what's everyone's most productive lure?

Roman-Made Mother Swimbait

JK but love to see the variety of responses on here. Goes to show that there isn't a single magic bait out there (besides the wacky rigged senko) but a variety of techniques work, especially when you have confidence / skills in it.

Re: old lanternt

A bit late but I have this one and it's pretty good. Will last 5+ hours on a single charge on high.

I use it for camping, night fishing, power outages, etc.

Re: abu garcia revo rocket feedback?

I've fished the Rocket quite a bit and it is a workhorse. It doesn't quite have the sophistication of the MGX or even the Premier, but the speed makes a big difference, especially if you are trying to maximize how many casts you make in a day (e.g., during tournaments). I'm not so crazy about the ro...

Re: Dropshot Rod

I use both spinning and baitcasting for drop shotting. My pros for spinning: Use very light line (e.g., 5 or 6 lbs test) and I trust the drag on my spinning gear better I like holding my DS rod forward of the reel with a finger on the line to detect faint bites I like opening the bail to let out lin...

Re: Need help with a spinning set up

Depends a bit on how finesse you want to get. I absolutely love the Megabass Kirisame line and the older versions have 2-piece models (the Limited and the Tourist Mobile are fantastic rods). One of these would be absolutely killer with a Stella 2000. Or if you want to go full travel rod, there are a...

Re: Anybody fish the 2015 MB Kirisame Baitcasters?

Sounds awesome, thanks :D And yes, the Kirisames are true works of art... Makes fishing with them a fun experience in and of itself. I'm not surprised that the F3 can wrangle in decent sized fish. I've landed a few 3 - 4 lbs largemouths on the F1 spinning and 4 lbs test FC, without too much trouble ...

Anybody fish the 2015 MB Kirisame Baitcasters?

And any comparisons to the Steez Megatop in terms of feel, sensitivity and backbone? These two pique my ultimate finesse fantasies. I own the Megatop and the Kirisame Limited 6'6" 2 piece F1-66ZKS (Spinning) and absolutely love them for 1/16 oz lures and for drop shotting using a baitcaster. I also ...
