Re: z2020 upgrade
I'm very happy with my RCS 100mm handle and original cork knobs on my z2020 - looks and performs beautifully on my Evergreen Super Stallion!
Re: SBR752?
I think more fast then Xfast when compaired to a BCR803. I agree - part of that feel is because it's a 2 power rod which has more flex throughout the blank in general than the 3 power. That "XF" tip with the additional flex of the 2 power is part of what makes it load up with lighter cranks and jer...

Re: TEAM DAIWA A.O.I. 103HL
I'm an AOI owner and find the reel absolutely stunning. In my hands, it performs like a tuned up R+ with a little something extra. It may be because of the lighter ported spool, I'm not sure, but they are amazing reels nonetheless. The only dislike I have about the reel is the stock handle - it's no...

I think you'll like it. I have a Conquest 50 on mine and it's a very fun little combo!rangerjoe wrote:I'am going to mate it up with a Sol, 10 lb test line and try it for jerkbaits.

Re: Scorpion DC - Can I see yours?
You're welcome. To each his own, but I really like this reel myself, and haven't had any issues with other Shimano reels using the spring.Phippy wrote:
Sux,l don't care for Shimanos' tooling when they do this. Just took me out of the running for a Scorpion DC. Thanks for checking

That is a beautiful combo, congrats!
Re: SBR752?
I use mine for small crankbaits, jerkbaits (pointer 78's mostly), and smaller topwater baits quite a bit. It works great for me. I don't throw spinnerbaits on it though

Re: Megabass jig rod
how deep is deep for you? we've been fishing some of the lakes here in northern cal with jigs at anywhere from 30 - 60 feet (or more). thanks. -perry- Hi Perry - I can honestly say that I don't recall the last time I fished a jig in 60' of water if ever, I think 50' is the deepest I've fished one. ...

Re: Calcutta 400 TE
Absolutely. I throw some 8" 4oz plus baits with the TE and it's in the zone with those type baits and 65 or 80lb braid.heatmiser wrote:Is the 300TE good for the large swimbaits if you are using braid?

Re: Suggestions on a paddle tail swimbait rod
If you like the new Crucial lineup, I'd take a look at the 7'2" Heavy for those baits. When you add your bait to the 3/8 oz head, you'll be at 1/2oz total, and close to an ounce with your 3/4oz heads. It has a soft enough tip, plenty of backbone, and all the other attributes you'd want for fishing t...

Re: MH all purpose rod, Just 1, 150 or less
I am a big fan of the older model Shimano Crucial rods. I've been fishing the new more sleek, stylish, and modern models lately and am equally as impressed. Considering the lifetime over the counter warranty, price point, wide selection, and performance, it's easily one of the best lines of rods ava...

Re: Calcutta 400 TE
The entire Calcutta TE lineup are extremely well built, long lasting, high performance reels. They're often overlooked because they're "round" and "heavy" when compared to some of the newer, lighter LP reels. And yes, the TE 200 is a crankin' machine. I have a few of them myself, including the TE 30...
