Re: Anyone got an SLX XT coming?

Just got my hg a few days ago. Just like my regular slxs, they squeak. I will re-oil with something other than the Ardent oil they have inside now. I agree that it is an attractive reel.

Re: Best grease and oil for servicing reels. 2019 edition.

I use Sil Glyde brake grease on gears and Ardent reel oil (not their bearing lube) on spool bearings. I also have Tsi321 and Liberty Oil in my arsenal. If I really want fast bearings, I use RemOil, but it must be applied more often.

Re: Aldebaran mg7

This is my favorite platform of any of my reels. I think I have at least 10 of them between aldes, cores, curados, and scorpions. Unless the weight is a big issue, I would recommend a curado 50 or scorp xt 1000 instead. The have brass gears, aluminum frames, and for some reason, they cast further fo...

Antares AR lefty gears

I just received my 3rd of these reels yesterday. It is my all-time fav reel! Exterior looks nice, but the inside has dirt and corrosion. I was able to source a main gear from Plat, but they sold out of the pinion gear. Does anyone know where I could get one or if there is an equivalent from another ...

Re: Pflueger Supreme and Supreme XT reviews (casting reels)

I have a Supreme xt and love it! Yes it is very similar to the older revo and that is a good thing. I have a patriarch and that reel is very similar to my 2nd gen Revo Premier. Supreme xt is almost the same except it only has centrifugal brakes, which I actually prefer.

Re: Aldebaran+Cumulus=Light as a Feather!

Yeah, I think people weren't ready to pay such a premium for a Shimano branded rod, especially since it was all business and no bling factor. It's like the hyundai genesis sedan which is every bit as good as some european models which cost more, but no one is buying the hyundai. My 1st gen Shimano C...

Aldebaran+Cumulus=Light as a Feather!

I've had my Cumulus 6'5" for several years and today I received my Aldebaran 51 from Japan! The reel is used, but in excellent condition and priced at $260. I know it was a gamble and I could've got a new one for about $50 more, but I was already stretching my budget due to my recent Tatula CT and N...

Re: new Tatula CT

Got my 8.1 Type-R today! Feels and looks awesome! I'm gonna flush the bearings and put some line on it tomorrow. 16 more 4x7x2.5 knob bearings on order for several of my reels, so I think this will soon be one of my fav reels.
