Re: MGL
Thanks guys, I appreciate the experiences of experienced anglers. Ii always have the feeling that some manufacturers make a minor change and hype it up. Glad to know there is a real difference.
MGL
For those who have used reels with MGL spools and the version before the MGL is there that much difference? Like, say the Alde without MGL and the current model with MGL. Is it more advertising or are we really gaining anything? I have a few older Shimanos that I would think about upgrading to the c...

Re: Plastics Challenge
Part of the problem is I work at a tackle store so I see all this cool stuff. This problem was going on before I worked there, so I don't thing I can blame it just on the store but it sure is enticing to see all the new/cool stuff. Like you I would give alot away if I thought it would get used.

Re: Plastics Challenge
I wish you the very best. I have failed miserably at this test. What I find upsetting is half the time when I bring something home I find I have the same stuff already.

Re: BFS Spool For Calcutta 50XT
Daltontribe can you post a picture of the XT spool. I think I may have one but need to see a picture not only of length of shaft but shaft it self. I bought one for a Calcutta Conquest but it does not work.

Re: Over 40 with a child Under 6 Months
I'm not going to pretend to be a great source of knowledge, but my experience is as follows. I was about 36 or 37 when my wife announced she would like to have another child. We had two sons at that point with the older one being about 10 and the younger about 5. I was doubtful but as was said previ...

Re: Shimano reel names
As bad as "Vanford" might be how many times has you heard someone refer to the CI 4 as the C 14. So I am alright with the name change even tho I think it is a dumb name. I know this is about Shimano names so I won't mention another brand whose reel are all a bunch of numbers and letters with somewhe...

Re: New Daiwa reel?
So here is what I think, BC fans will be disappointed. Minimum new in the BC world. Lots new in the Spinning world. Several variations of current products, more upscale additions to spinning reels. Don't know about rods. Some changes in the under $100 rods but those are already available at TW. Time...

Re: Automotive Observations
My feelings maybe different as I spent over 30 years in the auto manufacturing business starting in the early 70s. The first cars I drove were from the early sixties. So here is what I see based on that experience. Cars from the 60s that so many people wax nostalgic about were lucky to make it to 10...

BFS Rods
I am asking for help in designing a line of BFS rods. This is a hypothetical deal, I am not really going to manufacture a line of rods but I wonder what people would want if they could design their own BFS rod. Interested in line rating, lure rating, lengths and action. Can you help me out.
