Re: Project: Black Max BFS

Any idea if there is a bfs spool for the Black Max 2? Have one that's just collecting dust and thought it might be a fun way to try and revitalize it.

Re: Started a new collection

Don't see them post on here anymore, but search for posts from MA Dufour and JerryC. Both have some very impressive collections.

Re: Daiwa Alphas Air TW 2020

I like how towards the end of the article it basically translates to "here's a lower tier reel for all you poor people"!!! So TWS is finally making it's way to the Alphas family. Does't look awful, but not super crazy about the arrowhead look. It would be interesting to see how the TWS Alphas Air co...

Re: Smallest diameter swivel/quick clip/fastach clip/snap clip

Checking out the Pontoon 21 site and they have some really cool lures. Any idea of where to purchase them aside from the Bay?

Re: Snaps

Thanks for the info and recommendations. I understand the purpose of split rings allowing for more freedom, but wasn't sure if the shape, size, and added weight of a snap would hinder an already lightweight lure. For general bass fishing I was always somewhat discouraged from using snaps because of ...

Snaps

Due to low line capacity of BFS spools I was wondering if using a snap would be a good idea in order to save some line. Would it greatly alter or kill the action of small lures like a Pins minnow or even a MB Baby Griffon? If not then what size is recommended?

Re: MB Dark Sleeper

If you need some help getting some I might be able to pick up some. My local stores and even Bass Pro have plenty. Do all sizes swim well? The sad thing is before these became popular I ordered a reel from Japan lure shop and they gifted me one with my reel, I thought the damn thing looked dumb and ...

Megabass Baby Pop-X

Throw on a split ring (if so, what size) or directly tie on the line?

Re: 2019 Megabass Levante issues?

There might be some truth to that. I was checking The Hook Up this morning and noticed that ALL of the Levante were down to zero. Thought maybe it was an error on their site, but have since checked and all models are still at zero stock. Then checked Tackle Warehouse and it's the same way, except th...

Re: dippin' my toes in the BFS world

With that rod I would go with braid. You're liable to spool that reel tossing the baits that rod is designed for with the appropriate diameter fluoro. I have the MS-X 69M/BF and I use an SV105 with it. Funny enough I just took an SV105 off the rod in exchange for the Air. Based on your experience w...

Re: Hedgehog & Megabass purple

Thanks for the heads up. Have a spare SV105 and thinking about throwing a couple of purple parts on there to match with the Levante. Nothing overboard, just a couple highlights like knob caps and handle nut & retainer.

Re: dippin' my toes in the BFS world

I guess I could have mentioned that, but that's why I included the rods specs. I was hoping to get some recommendations based on that info. I'll moslyt be throwing topwater, small jerkbaits, and shallow cranks.

dippin' my toes in the BFS world

Finally got a reel to match up with my bfs rod and looking for all around recommendations from line, lures, and techniques. The setup is an Alphas Air with a Major Craft Go Emotion GEC-69M/BF 6'9” 1 3/16-1/2 6-16 Regular Fast. Thank you!

Hedgehog & Megabass purple

Thinking about picking up one of the 4 piece Levante rods and was curious as to how the purple highlights match up with Hedgehog Studios components. Is it closer to their royal or deep purple parts?

Re: JDM Levante

I didn’t see your thread earlier. If you read my above post you will know the rod doesn’t fit my grip. Other than that it goes together very nicely. Has small white alignment dots to help line it up. It’s put together very well and is a great option for putting under your seat in the car. Wacky Senk...
