Re: NFC SB 683 X-Ray and SJ762 HM.
I picked up a SB683 and SB684. Other than noting the insane light weight (1.17 and 1.45 oz respectively) I haven't done anything with them yet.

Re: Unknown blank power
Mudhole sells a Deflection Tool that lets you support two rods or blanks side by side so they can be flexed by hanging weights. As Mattman said you need a basis, so compare the blank to a rod you have that casts a known weight range well for you.

Re: Butt Cap Question
I've had someone tell me they do "dead end" reaming with a tap for cutting threads put into a variable speed drill and run in reverse. Seems like you'd need the right size to stay concentric. If you could secure it in a vise you could try a forstner bit on the drill press, but would have to be caref...

Re: Question about imperfections on x-ray blank
Not sure if he's aware of this forum, but Aleks Maslov is running NFC and seems pretty responsive to posts on a couple of other forums. Email him the pics. I'm interested to know the answer having not tried the x-ray blanks yet.

Re: Tips For Consistent Wrap Size
I mark all of my wraps with masking tape. I recommend this in beginner classes. If your wraps are real short you can count turns and be pretty close. I start most wraps 4 turns from the guide foot. A couple other tips that I think add to appearance. Make both wraps on a double foot guide the same l...

RDA Weight Attachment
I was working with the blank designer at Mudhole comparing some blanks using their two position rod support and measuring chart. He used a short length of the smallest size tubing for holding guides coupled with a 3D printed ring to slide over the blank tip for attaching weights. I made something si...

Re: PLS Help with a Missing Guide
KTSG would be pretty close and easily available. Maybe better with KBSG based on where it is on the rod. Haven't seen the bridge guides in a while.

Mudhole has LNSG guides. If the frame is polished consider CLNAG.

Definitely helps with this. Makes the grips a little easier to keep clean but does need to be re-applied over time.

Re: TVSTK Reel Seat
It feels OK with a reel, but I haven't fished it yet. I preferred to have the hood downlocking because of the shape of the CFX grip I would have used for the foregrip in the uplock orientation. Jim, the CFX insert I used was slightly small so I coated it with wrap finish to fit snug and it is design...

TVSTK Reel Seat
Any thoughts on the benefits of the Fuji TVSTK spin reel seat? I just finished installing one. I used a carbon fiber insert sleeve so there's no direct contact with the blank. With the hidden thread hood, a carbon fiber cover and a carbon fiber short rear split grip it weighs more than a DPSM with t...
