Re: be honest luna vs calcutta.

I've never used a Luna...but I wouldn't trade my 2 millionaires for 5 calcuttas. The Daiwas are smooth and really tough reels.

Re: Spro Bronze Eye Jr=Big Bass So Far & Then Some

Those frogs can get annoying when there's one chasing the frog on every cast.

Re: Giving Copoly line another shot (sigh)

I really like McCoy Mean Green and Gamma on both casting and spinning reels. With 4 lb gamma I can bend the hook on a jig when snagged...tough stuff.

Re: Fireline Crystal - 2 & 3 actual lb breaking strength

I can't break the 1 lb fireline in my hands as eaily as 4 lb mono if that means anything.

Re: "YOUR" One Favorite Reel

Bass: I still think my curado 200B is the most versatile....I have newer, smoother reels, but still love the feel of the curado

Muskies: my 2 old Millionaire CVX-253a's have been very good to me, but my new Curado 300DSV is pretty nice.

Re: Low profile baitcaster for pike?

I started using abu's for muskies like everyone else. If you want an equal priced reel that is much more durable (IME) and much smoother, check out the pflueger trion 56 or 66 (round trion, not the low profile) I have a couple and love them (not as good as millionaires...but half the price) I also g...

Re: DING DING!!! G Loomis vs St Croix

I've got 6 st Croixs and no Loomis rods. I like the St Croixs and have had good luck with their warranty department...why should I switch?

Its definitely a Ford vs. Chevy deal in my opinion...both good, but not for everyone.

Re: Canadian Fly in Trip, best line to use

I wouldn't use a terminator leader. I've heard waaaay too many people complain about the crimps breaking. Hardly anyone uses titanium leaders for muskies due to durability. I use nylon coated 7strand for most muskie fishing. Nylon coated leaders don't kink up like the uncoated ones and will not cut ...

Re: Better drag washers for millionaire?

I'm very interested to hear if the 300 drag works out. I'm using these for jerkbaits up to 14 oz...with those lures the drag slips just pulling the rod. Do the carbontex washers add a lot more power? I don't care about it being smooth, it just needs to hold.

I'll definitely give them a shot...if they're half as good as the original xraps they'll be great.

Re: drag?

Front drag reels always seem smoother to me. People say they like the fighting drag, but I don't get why you'd need to adjust the drag when you're fighting a fish. I set it where it needs to be and leave it alone.

Better drag washers for millionaire?

I have a couple Millionaire CV-X 253a reels that are by far the most durable reels I've owned. But, the drag has never been strong enough to be to my liking. Are there some washers I can buy that will allow it to hold a lot more?

Re: Bass Pro XPS and G string

I spooled the g-string onto a customer's reel and it coiled really badly. I would not use it on a spinning reel.
