Re: Uncharted Foreign Waters - what lures?

You can not beat a good selection of paddle tail swimbaits and paddle tail flukes! I agree with the inline spinner and would only add that as far as rooster tails go, Walmart and most tackle stores only carry the 3/8 ounce or smaller. So I special order the biggest they make, the 1/2, 3/4, and full ...

Re: Is the Steez SV TW currently the best low profile bass reel on the market?

ford , chevy , coke , pepsi..everybody as their own flavor. steez a tw is right at the top , bantam mgl is right there also , but a slight penalty for weight , just my opinion. Exactly. One of my criteria for putting a reel into my collection and rotation of use includes the type of screw used to h...

Something subjective can never be definitive. It's like trying to establish a general consensus on what is the best headphone on the market, or anything else for that matter.
Exactly! =D>

Everyone has different criteria for determining.

Re: Moon underfoot major

Can anyone explain why moon underfoot is the best major? When there is a full moon I've felt drawn to it so I assumed moon overhead might actuall pull the fish up and get them moving, sort of like pulling tides. After further investigation underfoot is actually considered the best major but haven't...

Re: Anti-Reverse/Needle Bearing/Roller Bearing/Clutch, etc. etc.

One of the premier Japanese bearing companies goes by: "Nomenclature 'Drawn Cup Roller Clutch'" as their preferred technical term engineers use when catalog sourcing. The term bearing is not used at all. Another thing from the technical catalog says human hands should never touch these parts. I just...

Re: Used SS SV or Tatula SV TW

I did not bash Daiwa... just stated I observed one backlash after another and he was not out casting me. Simple as that. I will say I don't like Daiwa baitcast reels, but that is just a personal preference- from decades of experience with all brands. I just don't like Daiwa but I do use older Daiwa ...

Re: Used SS SV or Tatula SV TW

My buddy wants to jump into baitcast for the first time. Opinions wanted. Here's one that won't be popular to some, but true enough because I saw it with my own eyes... Recently I fished with a guy on this forum who bought both Shimano and Daiwa baitcast reels. I asked him why in the world would he...

Re: Anti-Reverse/Needle Bearing/Roller Bearing/Clutch, etc. etc.

... The difference being a needle bearing would allow an axle to rotate both backwards and forwards, vs. a one-way clutch that only allows the axle(or drive shaft of a casting reel) to move in one direction. It is true a needle bearing would normally allow an axle to rotate in both directions if in...

Re: Anti-Reverse/Needle Bearing/Roller Bearing/Clutch, etc. etc.

To me a needle bearing is a single piece of metal found inside the AR bearing or clutch or whatever floats your boat to call it. It takes a number of needle bearings to make up the AR bearing or clutch or whatever name you wish to use to describe the overall part... but needle bearing is correct for...

Re: Swimbait rod

They don't work here in central Florida. I have spent a long time trying to find out. Even the pro's will tell you big swimbaits only work in certain places under certain circumstances. And the big bass are not jumping all over them on every cast. No way. You'd be lucky to catch one or two nice size...
