Re: Calcutta Conquest SE
I'm thinking it will be identical frame and gears as the 2021 100HG version. The weights are both at 220g or 7.8oz. This was the opposite case for the BFS version, the weights were different and gear ratios matched the Aldebaran BFS. People assumed Shimano would just use the aluminum micro gears and...

Re: Calcutta Conquest SE
Literally smiling ear to ear right now. I love my 100HG so much, but hate to buy the same reel over and over. Hoping this model has the higher tier micro brass gears.

Returning JDM Issues
Got a potentially defective reel from Japan, seller said all good, and said send it back on their account number, Wal-Greens Fedex department said I needed a QR code. So after about 4 messages I got a QR code and now they say it won't scan. No idea what to do at this point, my JDM retailer has been ...

Re: Underestimated Lures (or Unappreciated)
All great stories and info. Looking back, it took me a while to get into jig fishing. Now I crawl jigs on the river almost the same as plastics like a shaky head worm.
Flukes, whether rigged with a light belly weight or weightless are very underappreciated.

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
So the retailer said they would take it back, posted them the youtube video where they could hear it. Said I would get a full refund as soon as I send it, question is now, what do I get? I really liked the FM, but it is barely different than the FL to me. Hoping if I grab another I go with the 2500S...

Underestimated Lures (or Unappreciated)
Always love to start a conversation and had some new ammo to do so. Just got a recent JDM order in; mainly lures/terminal this time. The last lure I added to my cart was a Jackhammer Stealth Blade. I have seen mixed reviews on them but needed some 1/2oz bladed jigs to stay down a little better. I go...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
I would be close to keeping it. Took it off the rod last night, me and the wife had been testing it in hand. Occasionally I cannot get the reel to make the tick. Other times, it sounds worse than it does in the video and is very persistent. Wife gets the same results, tick comes and goes. I will say...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
I just received a JDM Stradic FM (2000 size, 6:1 ratio). It has no ticks, and I can't advise you on that. I do have a question for anyone with the new Stradic FM: Do you find its startup inertia to be greater than you expected? I sure do on mine. My larger (2500 size), years-old Stradic Ci4+ requir...

Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
Just got in a new Stradic FM. The reel is ticking persistently. It is a JDM reel, wondering if I should send it back or something I can do. If you turn the handle hard and fast, the sound stops. The reel feels exceptionally smooth, just has a tick. Seems like the tick happens in the same spot every ...

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?
Living in Arkansas, fishing is more of a play/occasional event to do more than persistent hobby. The area of river I fish maybe has 10 other fisherman that hit it. Of those 10, maybe 2 consistently fish. I am the ONLY one that predator (bass/walleye/panfish) fishes in the winter. Pretty long stretch...

Re: Do You Use Spinning Reels?
Re visiting this thread, I just ordered a C2000SHG Stradic FM. Was worried for a bit, would have rather put the money into a full size bass reel. Either way it was cheap, and spinning reels serve as easy fun for everyone. This will make my 4th spinner and own 13 casting reels. This will probably be ...

Re: All new steez sv tw
Concerning the move to a 32mm spool, I think it should be okay. I have been surprised by my Alphas SVTW (non shallow) since it has broken in. For 3/8 spinnerbaits and smaller lures it doesn't feel too choked off and still offers great control. A lighter version of that spool with updated braking cou...

Re: No Confidence in XXXXX?
Mine is almost opposite. Utmost confidence in jigs and plastics. I can almost fish them like a bobber, cast, leave it, maybe move a bit, and will eventually get a bite. Same goes for smaller cranks though, they will draw it. I had not caught a single bass EVER on a spinnerbait until about a year and...

Re: Midway USA Shimano mystery box
There's no guarantee on how much of that $500 value is tackle and how much of it is the reel. So I'd be wary, I wouldn't want to spend over 300 bucks on a $250 reel and assorted tackle... Speaking generally, assorted tackle always seems to end up being items that shops can't sell so they just off-l...
