Re: Megabass XX Rods
I don't think they will really "cheapen" the brand image, as they will still be a sort of niche product. Even at the reduced prices, they will still cost more, and have less brand recognition, than 99% of the market is willing to bite on. I am actually curious to see if they don't actually raise pri...

Re: What am I doing wrong?
I used to catch mussels in a private pond. They sit with their shells agape, filtering the water. As your lure passes into the shell, they close up, as a defensive measure. I also caught a lot of topwater catfish, and the skeleton of an Amur carp there, too. There was always a surprise at that place...

Re: DAIWA T3 AIR
I think the standard T3 is rather ugly. This, however, isn't bad at all. Maybe a little over-the-top, but still quite interesting. I also wonder how it will feel with that gear ratio. I'll definitely keep an eye on this one.

Luck "E" Strike?
Edit: Nope, those are made in MO. Your description of the worm with a face made me think of them.

Re: Quantum Exo reels.
Neat idea but I'm not buying into it. In order to seal the reel up them holes have to have walls. If you put walls on a hole you basically just added material that you took away by adding the hole. Removing metal for light weight=good. Added back to prevent your reel filling up with water and dirt=...

Re: I know this is not bass fishing but you gotta see it
I remember a show where the showed people who were catching tarpon with their hands, almost like noodling. I don't remember exactly what they did, but they would get the tarpon to come up and strike their hand, at which point they would grab the thing and land it. I think some of them would wear a s...

Re: Pre-ICAST spy photo!!!
The Z is really bugging me. It seems like it could be an awesome performer, but the aesthetics irk me. It seems kind of dated, in that the front of it reminds me of an old Lamborghini Countach (but less refined). For those who have handled the Z, do the pictures overstate the flat, angular look? A t...

Re: Bantam - My Appreciation
I remember when I needed a proprietary screw for a Conquest. This particular screw is not used in the Calcutta. I contacted Bantam, to see if he could possibly direct me to a source, and he asked for my address. Two days later, the part showed up in the mail.

Hmm. I thought the irony and sarcasm were rather apparent.

Re: New Curado rumors.
I think it may be a combination, and the color scheme. The white sides make it look a little narrower, with the narrow, black center portion standing out.husonfirst wrote:That reel looks very long to me. Not sure if it's because of the angle.

Hmm. I haven't had any trouble with Firefox and TW. This is using XP, Windows 7 64, and Mac OSX. Do you have a different zoom-level set, or any add-on that may be interfering?jeb wrote:When I try to use Firefox, the site looks like crap and is pretty much unuseable.

Re: Double Digit Ohio largemouth
With fish like this, and the 41-inch blue cat that washed up at Wallace Lake, you never know what you are going to pull out of a small body of water. It is too bad that the person catching these fish is rarely me! I have a couple of shooting matches coming up in Zanesville. I'll have to take a littl...

Re: I'm pretty sure Fluorocarbon is BS...
It could be all in my head but with crankbaits and bottom bouncing techniques I feel like I am getting better results. Maybe I just believe all the hype or maybe some people just have a few bad experiences and give up. Who knows? A big part of fishing is confidence. While I think the supposed optic...
