I *think* what he's getting at is that if you take an medium power rod and heavy power rod, both with a fast action, the medium power rod will bend further down the blank with the same amount of weight on it compared to the heavy power rod with that same amount of weight on it.

Funny that you mention the Bionic Plus because I picked up that reel in the 7.1 ratio in a combo 2 weeks ago. Bass Pro makes their Bionic Blades (the burgundy ones) in a 2pc 6'6" and 7' M and MH fast. IM8/50MM blank. I picked one up in a combo with their Bionic Plus baitcaster but haven't used it yet.
