Re: Question about leader knots
Fair enough about the wiggle room, point taken. I'll have to go back and look at my guides I suppose. The question was as much theoretical as it was practical. What's your take on forgoing the Bimini twist for simply doubling the line over and trimming the tag end?

Question about leader knots
On the subject of knots, I was wondering something. I haven't seen the sebile or GT knots until today. Without an actual knot in the leader material with the sebile, will it slip at all if not tied perfectly or is there a little wiggle room for a less than perfect knot tie-er like myself? The video ...

Thanks! Time to start saving some pennies for the end of the season
Re: LPA?
I *think* what he's getting at is that if you take an medium power rod and heavy power rod, both with a fast action, the medium power rod will bend further down the blank with the same amount of weight on it compared to the heavy power rod with that same amount of weight on it.

Orra 2 SX
Has anyone tuned one of these reels? If so, aside from the polishing and smoothing/leveling of the braking drum, would I be smart to look at upgrade bearings for the spool or are the stock bearings pretty solid? I'm going to fish with it stock first for a few months then tinker with it to see what k...

Re: Spiral Wrap Setup
First, let me preface this post by saying that I realize this may not be ideal, or even a good idea, I just want to know if it will work well enough to try the idea out. OK. So, I have a relatively inexpensive 2 piece casting rod that I would like to try an acid wrap on. What I was thinking was to s...

Re: BPS Tournament Pro questions
Funny that you mention the Bionic Plus because I picked up that reel in the 7.1 ratio in a combo 2 weeks ago. It was one of the few that seemed me-proof AND came with a 2 piece rod (we have a Mazda 3...) Anyhow, that's good news about them sharing a frame, I could theoretically swap out the graphite...

Re: BPS Tournament Pro questions
Anyone recognize my reel's internals at all? I realize it's not a Steez but I would much rather tinker with this inexpensive reel to start out with rather than test my hands on a new, high end reel and muck it up due to lack of experience. Any help is hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Spool Bearing oil
I just purchased some TSI321 and will be flushing all of my bearings and applying this. TSI301 contains solvents that arent safe for plastics, TSI321 is safe for all but a few plastics ( PMMA, PVB). I'll circle back and follow-up with my thoughts. Where did you order from? Ideally, I'd like to find...

Re: Above average 2 piece casting rods?
Bass Pro makes their Bionic Blades (the burgundy ones) in a 2pc 6'6" and 7' M and MH fast. IM8/50MM blank. I picked one up in a combo with their Bionic Plus baitcaster but haven't used it yet. I'm still out on the road. I'll report back about the rod once I get a chance to use it if you're curious...

BPS Tournament Pro questions
Hi all, this is my first post on TT so please be gentle. While I realize that this reel is by no means at the high end of the spectrum, I am new to baitcasting and was looking for an accessible (read, inexpensive) intro, hence the used reel I picked up for a song. It seems to be in very good conditi...
