Re: 17 Scorpion DC Gears
That's what I figured but I searched and haven't heard of anyone swapping 8.2 XG gears into their CU 200i. My original plan was to make this my topwater reel with 8.2 gears. I think going with the 7.2 gears will make it more versatile (cheaper too!) for lipless and shallow cranking as well as topwat...

Re: 17 Scorpion DC Gears
Bantam1,
Just wanted to confirm if the 71 XG gears will also work before I place an order. You only previous mentioned 200I gears.
Thanks

Re: ICAST 2019
The Coastal SV is interesting. Daiwa has always used the SV spool with smaller capacity spools. Nothing larger than 103 (14lb/100m) capacity that I know of. This is like Curado 200 (20lb/100m) capacity with an SV spool. Very interested on how it casts.

Re: ICAST 2019
Too bad it has a fixed inductor. I would love to see a more distance orientated Magforce Z spool in it for bombing frogs and throwing big baits. I know the JDM Zillion HD has a fixed rotor. The Daiwa USA website does list Magforce Z though. So maybe it's using the Ryoga 1520 spool? http://www.daiwa...

Re: Daiwa Coastal/Tatula HD 34mm spool options
The Daiwa Coastal TWS is a 36mm spool so none of the regular Tatula 34mm spools will work, including the HLC. Your best bet is the spool from the JDM Tatula 153. Its shallower and has Mag Z.

Re: 17 Scorpion DC Gears
I forgot to follow up on this. Curado 200I gears should work but let me confirm. It's 5:00am in CA so I will have to wait until he arrives to get the answer. My apologies for not following up. No worries at all. Thanks for looking into this. I bought a 6.3 and it would be cool to have a 7.2 and 8.2...

Re: Weak Drag on OG Zillion
Thanks for the responses everyone. I finally got around to working on the Zillion. Since I have a few SV103s I swapped out the some of the parts and it made a significant difference. The washer that sits on top of the drag clicker and belleville washers is noticeably thicker than the stock one. A qu...
