Re: NEW LOOK ON AIRRUS WEB SITE

Should be a great rod. I look forward to your review. I wonder if Cabelas will be offering the Ultra XL? I just looked and don't see it on the Cabelas website and historically they have carried only the Co-Matrix. I hope its a hit and they start selling it. My preference is to get everything at Cabe...

Re: NEW LOOK ON AIRRUS WEB SITE

I can't wait to hear the reviews on the Ultra XL. I've pretty much decided to order a Helium but wanted to wait till the XL reviews were in before I made my final decision.

What model did you guys order?

Re: Berkley Vanish Fourocarbon for spinning reel

I tried both the Vanish and the stren equivalent 2 years ago as did my dad. Absolute dogs in my opinion. We both had line breaking in the spool with the baitcasters and breaking in numerous spots on the spinning reels. When it first happened to me alone, I thougth it was a one off caused by me. A mo...

Re: NEW TOYS!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

Boone, LR- Thanks! Sounds like the 7M might be a more flexible all purpose rod. Have you compared it to the 6'9 all purpose? If so, is there a reason you like the 7M better. Also, wondering if anyone owning both a Helium LTA and Airrus co-matrix could compare them from an action, strength and sensit...

Re: NEW TOYS!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

Boone, Very Nice! Any idea what the total weigth of each rig is? With the 50MG's, you must be around 10oz or less if a Kistler is less than 4oz. Do you fish most of your plastics on the Medium Kistlers? Do they have enough backbone to fish say a 1/2oz spinnerbait or Carolina rig? I'm thinking about ...

Re: US Super Caster Pro Reel?

Mo- I now use 15lb p-line braid most of the time but the casting distances on my first post were 30lb Stren braid. I have not had the supercaster on the 7ft MH spinning rod since I moved down to smaller braid. 1- I'd estimate 15 to 20% farther than my Stradic 2500, which by the way has a pretty big ...

Re: US Super Caster Pro Reel?

I've not tried the Pro version which was introduced as an upgrade to the original supercaster but I have the original supercaster. I'm surprised that something as innovative as this reel has not been reviewed by TT or talked about in this forum. I got one of these reels soon after production started...

CrankBait Rod Recommendations

I'm thinking of buying a crankbait rod in a 6'6 or 7ft MH range. I was thinking graphite because of the lower weight. Does anyone have a recommendation. Thanks!

Re: Airrus vs. St. Croix

I own both the Co-Matrix rods reviewed in TT and a 2004 St. Croix Legend Elite 6'3 Med Power x-firm Spinning Rod. Both Brands are well made and I'd recommend either. The reviews done by TT for the Airrus rods and the 2002 review of the Legend Elite are well done and about what I'd rate each product....
