Curado 50E has 7 bearings as well.
but both can ad a bearing per knob to make it 9
Sorry but only the Cu 50 E will accept an extra bearing per grip by swapping out the bushing.

New Chronarch E the posts are machined to accept only one bearing per grip.

Scorpion SVS Braking

Does anyone know how to remove it from side cover. I am looking into getting the covers repainted. The USDM is held together with screws. I cannot find anyway to remove the SVS braking system. I thought maybe someone has done this before. Maybe I need to contact JapanTackle if not known by someone h...

Re: Chronarch B problem and a question

Bantam 1 has made this Abec rating clear for Shimano bearings before. Shimano uses Abec 3 exclusively weather sealed or open ARB. He also stated in prior posts that anything more than Abec 5 is not needed. Personally I use ABEC 7 Hybrids exclusively in all my reels. I did my own testing stock Shiman...

Re: Hawgtech Handle on Core

So I guess the wife saw me looking at the hawgtech website and ordered me a handle for a stocking stuffer. Even though these handles are bulky and wider than I would have liked, its a nice upgrade from the stock handle on a Fuego. Would I buy another?? Not sure.......But if they came out with anoth...

Re: Chronarch B problem and a question

Crackerjack, I also have a Scorpion (MG) and a Calcutta TE DC both with the wiffle spools and have never noticed this problem with either of them. I'm sure the tape thing is solid advise in the end though. Thanks again guys for your help. I don't own a reel that doesn't have a wiffle spool. Got int...

Re: Chronarch B problem and a question

Have you used plumbers tape on your spool to close those holes? What can happen is water held in the line can get drawn towards the spool and spool shaft by capillary forces. This is going to be exacerbated if you're close to spooling your reel on each cast fishing heavy lures and drawing in lots o...

Re: Smoothness - impossible to be found?

I have bronze 6.4:1 gears in my Core 50 and its way smoother than the 7.1 aluminum gears.smooth as butter :D Come to think of it all my reels with aluminum gears I replaced to bronze and it made a huge differance in smoothness. :D I refuse to use a reel with Aluminum Gears. Only if a Brass/Bronze g...

Re: Lost clicking spring on drag star on Scorpion 1000

Do yourself a favor using SuperGlue. Using a tooth pick put some in bottom of hole to secure spring and some on click pin for attaching to spring. I have gotten tried of them being lost.

Re: Chronarch 51 MG

Why are you looking for a different spool ? I have found the Ch 50 /51 spools to be quite fast with the addition of ABEC 7 Boca O/S. There are times that I almost empty the spool on a cast depending upon weight being cast.

Use a Cu 100 B deep spool which only works in the USDM reels for heavier line.

Re: Flushing Boca OS 7 Bearings

I will not go as far as to say contaminate proof, but ether works very well. I like it because it does not seem to melt most plastics like the brake/carb cleaner i used to be in love with. I will not do the coffee cup test on this one thanks. All the Boca's Ceramic Hybrids have no plastic to melt. ...

Re: Sub 6oz deep cranking reel.

Chronarch 50 Mg with brass gearset change is my Cranking reel.

BNT 2405 Pinion and BNT 1325 Main = 6:1

BNT 2188 Pinion and either BNT 2187 Main or BNT 1213 Main = 5:1

Both above are Brass and only increase the reel weight from 5.9 oz to 6.4 oz.
