I was reading your post in the Boca Support section.

It has been alluded to that reel machining tolerances are different in product lines. Well if this is true then why do Calais gears swap into Cu 100 B's : D's and Ch 50 Mg reels.

Little off topic but the Calais have 4 bearing grips. A bearing on the worm gear that isn't present on other series.

The 80 mm handle changed nothing regarding IPT. I peeled line off reel and measured at one revolution. The drive gear ratio dictates IPT. Longer handle is only more comfortable reeling.

Excellent 5:1 cranking reel 15 IPT with a solid forged aluminum platform and brass gearing. Perfect for tossing small baits with ease.

I agree that performance oils can be pricey. I bought a needle oiler at hobby shop to apply a small drop. I still haven't used up a bottle of Yellow Rocket Fuel in 10 years. Are all the spools inter changeable? USDM spools can only swap with USDM Cu 100 B's & D's and Ch 50 Mg's. IMO a Scorpion 1000 Mg is the best option which was left out.

The TG's that I have are Laser Etched CB on the outer casing. For the most part you have to trust the vendor is selling real item.

I buy Boca's these days for the cost and their reputation.
