Re: Major Craft Days 360

You can find all models on Japanese Yahoo shopping and order them via Zenmarket or buyee.

My last 1 piece rod shipment from Zenmarket was 70ish bucks via FedEx + fees so you might wanna team up with a buddy.

Haven’t tried it myself as it’s not available in Europe but it sounds promising:

Re: Daiwa Experts SOS! Bought a JDM Steez CT SV TW700 and think I made a mistake. USDM differences?

That’s quite an interesting topic you are opening up. I have yet to see a statement clearly defining what hypergear actually is and really see where the differences are. My impression so far was Daiwa just decided to start giving its gear cutting technology a fancy name because… marketing. So did th...

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s

My Shimanos only become inconsistent when: A) there’s too much side to side play what makes totally sense because that’s how brake force is increased, by ever so slightly moving the brake cone in or out in that direction. If the spool can move that way, the brake force can vary. The necessary travel...

Re: Exposed Thread Reel Seats

If you just want to add something on top or in front and leave the current nut assembly intact, there’s not much requirements to this piece. Just the question of how it would stay tight and out and not look half decent. The clean and neat way approaching this would be a replacement of the nut and de...

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s

Why else would Shimano put mag braking on their BFS offerings? Simple answer is that consistent control is needed when tossing the light stuff, and mag brakes deliver that. I'm in no way throwing shade, just stating a fact. I can think of an “ else ”: a centrifugal system needs extra mass to experi...

Re: Japanese PE line strength?

Check this thread, I guess that’s the answer you are looking for: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?t=74502 these days I do neither pay attention to any test stength or diameter and solely decide on PE rating. Using a FG knot, I know I can combine as such and have the lure break off in case of...

Pitching performance & leader length

I’ve just made an interesting discovery pitching around 3g lures testing new vs old BFS spools for my Alphas TW, the Roro X and KKR spools. Difference was huge. Initially I thought the different startup speeds and trajectory were determined by the different spools: one super quick and flat, the othe...

Re: Is There A Way to Make A Standard Baitcast Spool To A Shallow Spool?

Back to adaptors: would cork be a suitable material? As it is a natural product it does not have even density. I’m thinking about even weight distribution and the level of machining precision manufacturers need to build spools that spin this perfectly. Or at least that’s what I imagine spools to be ...

Re: Is There A Way to Make A Standard Baitcast Spool To A Shallow Spool?

I do this to most of my spools, to a light extent. I always put some braid backing, then my fluorocarbon. Braid doesn't add much weight and is WAY lighter than a full spool of fluorocarbon. Bad thing is guessing how much you need, and you have like 3 knots laying on the spool (short piece of fluoro...

Re: Is this a legitimate vendor?

The shop is a carbon copy of thehookuptackle.com, so just from that and using their Logo this calls for a scam. Why would they make a second Onlineshop and not link to the OG one with several domains? Speaking of which: the domain is registered in China (to check such things you can go to who.is and...

Re: 19 Antares for stream trout?

Thanks, good to know. I wish there was a shallow spool option for 19 Antares outside of the Hitotoki Works model, which costs about half the Antares and not easy to find. I recognize that Antares is not the first (or second) choice for stream trout fishing, but I just put mine on my just arrived Ca...

Re: Accurate bait casting tips

Low spool startup speed compromises accuracy when pitching / doing short casts. So: - Backing up the spool tension until there is minimal play and only work with magforce / svs - Lighter / lower capacity spools for a given lures. Having excess amounts of line is nice, but FC is really heavy stuff. Q...
