Re: Your gotta have big swimbaits
Bull Shad for my hard bait S-Waver for my glide occasional Hudd My buddy and I talked about getting a couple of S-Wavers. Just haven't done it. Which size do you throw? I did see the 3:16s on Samurai. That may be the way I end up going. I can pick up a silent killer or jointed claw at the same time...

Re: My first Fairy Wand. BC or Spin?
Meet Charlie Brewer, the grand daddy of "Do Nothing" finesse fishing. Back then they ate most of what they caught. From cleaning and gutting countless fish, he observed that the vast majority of what was in a bass's stomach were minnows/baitfish in the 2"-3" range. Yeah, they can eat stuff much lar...

Re: Your gotta have big swimbaits
I would put a 3:16 wake jr on your list. They are a bit expensive but well built. They also float so if you cast it off while figuring out the proper setup you should be able to retrieve it provided you have access to the water. I also really like 3:16 soft baits. The rising son (top hook version) ...

Re: My first Fairy Wand. BC or Spin?
Sorry guys, I was just trying to make a joke with the fairy wand thing. As far as me hating the thought of it that may be just a bit of a hyperbole. I'm all for anything that helps me catch more fish. I just have trouble exercising my patience sometimes and making myself slow down. I've just gotta g...

Your gotta have big swimbaits
Just starting to dip my toe into the swimbait waters and I'd be interested to hear y'all's list of swimbaits that you consider "must have." So far I've only messed around with some smaller soft plastic baits, the Kawashi Mikey, the Shellcracker G2, and some Fringe Tackle 7" soft baits. Looking to ge...

Re: What reviews are you looking forward too?
I hafta agree with the guys that said more line reviews. Most of the reviews are a bit older and I know stuff has changed since then. I like the top water idea too and I'm always down for more JDM gear reviews.

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
Been looking at the WP II for about six months waiting on the new Evoluzions to compare. Went by TTT to trade a rod and they had a SB WP, Gary worked with me and I took it home. Plan on using it for swimbaits and large cranks. I hope it will handle the LC mag 120 at 3 1/4 ozs. SB is a dream to cast...

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
I have a gan craft junk and love it. It's very versatile. You would love it. The Junk is one I've considered as well as the Dictator and the Ground Trick. It'll be down the road a bit unless I decide to get one of the light action models for a finesse rod. After this swimbait rod, a finesse rod is ...

I really figured at least one or two people on here had some experience with these two lines. I may hafta try over in the Enthusiast sub-forum.

Re: All Over But The Cryin'
Those are fun to catch at that size and some really fine table fare, to boot. =D> Yeah, they really are a blast, especially on a 4 power rod. They fight like the devil. You can have a lotta fun if you get on some that are blowing up on top. We love eatin' em too. A lotta guys around here say they'r...

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
You guys are making it hard not to go the slant bridge route. I reckon I might as well take the plunge cos I'm pretty sure I won't be happy til I do. 'Course I do know an excellent machinist that could make me a slant bridge piece. I could always buy a SRD, chop off some of the handle, and turn it i...

My first Fairy Wand. BC or Spin?
As much as I hate the thought of it at the moment I fish gin clear water the vast majority of the time and I reckon I'm gonna hafta bite the bullet and get a finesse rig. It would be for shakey heads, drop shots, weightless flukes, ect. I know opinions vary, but I'd love to hear from some of y'all o...

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
The reason I like the Super Destruction is it's a wicked rod and very hard to find. I also have the wp sb and a srd. I own about 12 Megabass slant bridge rods and all are sweet. Well hell, now I'm just jealous  That's more what I was getting at tho. Whether or not there was something about the...

Re: MB rod for heavy baits
Super Destruction slant bridge but good luck finding one. This!!!! But finding a used one that someone is willing to sell is going to be next to impossible. Good luck!! If you are going to stay under 3 oz baits, I'd go with a WP. Using baits over 3oz gets scary...the rod feel underpowered on the ca...

Re: My New PopMax
Love the compression lock, this version is a sprint run with grey G10 handles and Elmax steel... I have almost as many knives as I do fishing gear :big grin: My most carried is my CRK sebenza insingo, as for fixed knives I use mostly ESEE. Didn't carry my Sebenza, shelf queen , but did carry ...
