Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
I don't even need a Pixy spool but i'm thinking of ordering one knowing they'll be sold out . I imagine it outperforms the r tuned spool from the airy red?

Re: Daiwa Liberto Pixy
The Libertos are still some of my favorites. Can't wait to try the shallow DIY spools in them. 8-) Been off the boards for awhile, i just saw the thread about those spools but couldnt find them on the link. Id be in for atleast 2 if they are still available. There's a bunch of them left and many co...

Looks like they've made a spool for Pixy as well. They're out for TDZ/T3 platform too.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
I bought 2 handles from him and both say Ray's Studio. Currently using one and not only does it work well but it looks on par with the ZPI silver handles. Other than showing off your Ito/RCS etc handles, i really don't see the point of spending that much anymore. May change my mind if i happen to ha...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
DIY Alphas spools are now available - anybody tried one? The price increase sucks. But it looks like they're almost 2 grams lighter and come with micro BBs. The Alphas SV spool weighs 14g according to the TT review. In contrast, the DIY spool is listed as weighing 8.9g (with bearing). More than 5g ...

The 2016 Met is exactly in your price range. Don't know if anything could beat that.

unpainted zaion looks bad. if i ever get a reel that comes with a zaion star drag, it'd be the first thing i change. The look and feel of these is just meh.

I contacted him two weeks ago since he was supposed to receive all the colors in March, he told me to wait until April... I'm expecting the Shimano spools to be released at the same time, maybe May.Aek29 wrote:Hate to bump an older thread but does anyone know if they decided on doing a Shimano 50 spool?

Re: Hedge hog air bearings. Anybody tried them?
I have the AIR bearings and love them. Didnt get the HD cause I felt it was just graded to resist corrosion from saltwater...whats the difference between the reg AIR and AIR HD besides that? Air is rated up to 1oz. HD are for everything. If you use 4oz lures while having the HH Air, they'll wear mu...

Re: Would you be interested in a magnesium T3
The original T3 was way overpriced. Probably priced in the novelty factor of being the first reel with TWS and a pop up hood. Main reason I bought mine  but luckily I waited till they were deeply discounted on TW. Nice enough reel but must be the noisiest "upper end" reel produced. Not too smo...

the silver mica looks so simple. All the others (while the PX68 isn't that hot either in my opinion) look 'special'.pharmboy2010 wrote:I'm glad to see the Silver Mica got 1 sympathy vote.
