Re: ENVY BLACK VS HELIUM 3

I agree that the NFC blank is very good, but the Envy blank is also very good too. The Envy is 40T toray which isn't really much of of or if at all, a step back from the NFC. I wouldn't buy Kistler for one simple reason... The warranty! My local tackle shop refuses to do biz with them because of ho...

Re: ENVY BLACK VS HELIUM 3

My issue with 13 is the quality. My KLX builds have been absolutely flawless. I've had 3 Omens, 2 of which had epoxy all over, one had a crooked guide. Only one of the 3 was acceptable, though I wouldn't call that one great. Then I had an Envy and the first guide was crooked as can be too. 3 out of...

Re: ENVY BLACK VS HELIUM 3

Hmm probably better splitting it up into segments. Looks: Envy although the lock nut requires a lot of tightening..it looks 3x better along with the checkered grips. Blank: Helium, made by NFC Guides: Tie, Helium has more durable, quieter and braid friendly fuji guides. Envy looks a bit like an NRX...

Re: Steez palm ability?

My favorite reel to palm so far is definitely the T3; nothing else is close. That's what I'm hoping, my first T3 MX is on it's way! \:D/ I like to cast and retrieve palming the reel. I couldn't do that with the T3 platform due to the pop up hood. the Steez, like the alphas are probably one of the b...

Re: ENVY BLACK VS HELIUM 3

Has anyone fished a 7'1" MH XF Helium? and perhaps a UMBX 700MH or LEC 70MHXF as well?
Quite curious at the differences in power and taper compared with the two latter rods (Which I am well acquainted with)

Re: Phenix k2 blanks now sanded

Come on, Martin. Living where you do, hooking fish in fresh or saltwater is easy, now, actually catching might be a different story. Wait, I saw you catch a fish on a YouTube video. Haha, a double? HAHAHAHA. I definitely spend time and energy trying to work it out but it's rather disheartening to t...

In a match between a clumsy fisherman and a K2 blank, my money is on the fisherman.
K2? check,
Clumsy? check,
Fisherman? That remains to be decided. So for now I'm safe.

Re: VBS vs SVS

Not for nothing, but cant you just use a little spool tension to fine tune with the VBS? I mean, its almost the same theory. I think its just another "how to catch a fisherman" story. You can ride around with your ebrake on all the time if you like... But I personally like for no red lights to be o...

Re: Phenix k2 blanks now sanded

it seems phenix has definately changed the recipe on their k2's  and i wonder how did it effect the action and or weight of the blanks. someone out there has to have a new sanded and older unsanded model to compare for us. I have 2 k2 casting blanks I the 2 power, One was from a recent one and...

Re: VBS vs SVS

The SVS equipped shimano reels casts further IMO. However the increase in distance could be due to the extension of the level wind away from the spool. This maybe the single reason the current gen cast so much better than previous gen and other competitors reels. VBS was indeed very versatile in it'...

Re: Received my Steez SV 105XH Ltd.---Very Impressed!

Stunning. Looks like a supermodel. Now only if it was made in alloy. All these magnesium frame reels must be driving you nuts! No SW for these bad boys, at least not if you are smart and don't have $$$ to just throw away. ;) Yeah a lot of disappointment . A lot of look but can't touch It'll be cool...
