Re: Fat Ika
I use them with fintech skip n jigs but found the plastic keeper let's go too easily. Are there other brands with a screw lock version?
Re: Fat Ika
The fat ika 4" is the only bait I've caught every species in my region both in fresh and salt. For barramundi and jacks the present an entirely new way of fishing. Like the vision 110 it's one if those baits that had a major impact in the way I fish. I use the troikas with them and have rigged them ...

Re: Embarrassed that i even gotta ask.. Patriarch egg beater
Take a part a patriarch and a president and you'll see how similar they are. They should be exactly the same except a patriarch is different regarding materials. I think for salt the 2 piece spools are a better design as corrosion begins at the junction of the carbon arbor. I wish they used a worm ...

Re: Time to save up...
Isn't the cast frame the bit Megabass replace with a machined piece? I though all millionaires were machined from billet aluminium, part of what makes them so desirable. Dale, do you reckon MB has their own milling line for the "ITO" and their own anodising? I think you'll find the term "monoblock"...

Re: Embarrassed that i even gotta ask.. Patriarch egg beater
I didn't know spin reels could use 12 pound FC! I thought only lighter lines were suitable for spin reels dude to line management. That said however most users here fit a PE from 4-20lb on said reels and catch rather large species albeit with less couldn't a hookset than largemouth anglers ( weed gu...

Re: Exsence dc or SS SV
Not under load the core feels smoother but under higher loads I definitely prefer X-Ship reels. Exsence is at 8:1 but the fine tooth gears I felt was quite good. I just got my reels yesterday and did some casting in the backyard. I havent used it in water yet. I know under load the x-ship feels a l...

Re: Exsence dc or SS SV
I did the tackletour way and got both reels. The exsence dc casts further than the ss. So far, im more impressed with the exsence. Smoothness wise, my core is still smoother than both reels when reeling. Wow! What did you do to your core? I still have it, its not going anywhere. I think what he mea...

Re: Time to save up...
They still make the millionaire for SW jigging...got a new one released this year. That would mean the basic frame is still accessible to Daiwa /MB. Perhaos the centri brakes millionaires use the same aid plates with a brake drum instead.

Re: New Reel for skipping jigs
That I gotta disagree with. With T3 SV I do exactly the same. I switch between the 3 settings with the dial for minute changes. With VBS I do everything on 2. On SVS infinity I also use two ( dial in mid )then for those times when I need the brakes real low I back the braking cone dial right back. ...

Re: Daiwa SS SV
Yeah: I'll finish it once and for all. When it comes to magnetic braking with Daiwa reels. There is 2 parts that can vary in function and method: A: the Magnets B: the Spool Inductor. A: Magnets. There are two main types. The standard and the Magforce 3D. T3 & Z are the only two with Magforce 3D. Of...

Re: Skipping with baitcasters.
If one relies on casting brakes to skip. SVS will require more fine tuning than VBS.goldrod wrote:what about with a reel like the scorpion with svs brakes?
VBS...I dunno why the bothered with 6. Just make the thing with 2
