I see... it seems like the paint is similar to the steezes when fished in salt... it starts bubbling...

My favorite paddle tail rod is definitely the original black Cumara spinning in the 7’6” medium model. I wish I could find a backup for this rod but it seems to be a less common model.

I also second this, one of my favorite rods, also sad that not much rods are similar to this rod nowadays.

Well, I bought the reel, the reel is in pretty good condition, no scratches or dings, hopefully the frame will last like the metanium when fishing saltwater. The metanium frame is pretty dang good as long as you kept washing it

Has anyone used this reel in saltwater? It is an older shimano reel, so not much info on it in salt. Other forums give mixed reviews, some say its ok some say its not. I know its magnesium but the new shimano reels and saltwater arnt bad. Thanks.

I too only use my metanium 2020 in salt, I rinse the hell out of it each time and I put it in freespool and unfreespool it under the water and oil the bearings every so often. Still feels smooth and operates smoothly
