Re: Stella 4000FE size? Too big?

I have the old Twinpower in 4000 size and have used it on a few tropical trips. But nowadays it rests on the shelf of seldom used reels. I guess that it will be a good salmon reel.

Re: Which rod for my Conquest 101?

After some browsing of the MB catalog I found the Destroyer Black Jungle F5-71XBJ. This rod looks much better, but for a steeper price, of course.

Any opinions?

Which rod for my Conquest 101?

Hi all!

I want to buy a rod for my Conquest 101 but need some help. It will be used for cranks, jerkbaits and spoons up to 1 oz. Not a specialized rod but more versatile.

The one I have in mind is the Megabass Orochi F5-68X4. Good choice or bad?

Re: Tackle Organization

I also use 3700's but I have my lures organized in categories per box. I pack the boxes in one or two bags. One small (four boxes) and one big (12 boxes).

Re: MB Tour Versatile good alternative to CBR 845?

The rod has already arrived :D I'll have to figure out which of my techniques I'll use it for.

If I can convince myself I'll buy the GLX 845/847 CBR for cranks ...

Re: How can I lighten up my 153 HSTA?

I've looked at my own HST with similar ideas but it's to much a bother to do anything with it. Better to turn to other projects :D

Re: TackleTour in the JDM - Lake Biwa, Japan

Just curious. If bass are considered an invasive species in Japan and Lake Biwa, is C&R allowed?

In some other parts of the world, ie european perch in Australia, you can't return invasive species.

Re: craft beer

I don't complain :D We have a good selection with over 300 beers in the local shop and another 1600 available on order. But the club enables us to try these and other imports for a small fee. Saves money for tackle

Re: craft beer

We have a small "Beer Academy" where I live. We have a meeting every month and tests 12-14 beers. Great to be able to try top beers without the trouble of ordering several on a hunch.

Re: craft beer

Styles I like to drink are DIPA's, imperial stouts and lambics but there are good beers in every style =P~

Re: Gear Ratios?

My reels have from 1:5.8 (cranking) up to 1:7.1 (topwaters) with between 1:6:2-6.4 the norm for the small stuff under 1 oz.

For large and heavy (2 oz <) I use reels with 1:5.3 or 1:6.3 gear ratio.
