I've had Versus boxes so warped the edges won't close flat and they randomly pop open...
Plano boxes for me were just a waste of time. I'm finding that some "safe" will plastics are affecting the plastic of the box itself....
Can't win...

Re: ZMAN plastics
Take a picture of the subject, and screenshot the picture itself, crop it to the picture you want to post (cut out any unnecessary background).
Try that.

Re: ZMAN plastics
There are small ZMan proof tackle boxes available. Lets you keep ZMan and other plastics in the same box and separated from each other. Those Moncross boxes are proof that ZMans aren't kryptonite to all plastics... Plano and Versus boxes taco badly... Other soft plastics - may as well be a congeale...

Re: Taking spooled reels on flights...
When I was FIFO from Townsville to Gold Coast I couldn't take spools or even electrical tape off site on carry on and that was 2009...
Just last year from GC to NZ we couldn't take spools on carry on either.

Genius!earthworm77 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 2:45 pmHere is what you do.........pull off about 20ft more line than what you expect to cast when you add a little zip to your casting motion.........then put about a 2" piece of electrical tape on the spool........wind the line back on........you should not have this issue again.

Re: Daiwa Certate LT
Someone should build a guage force machine to test the "fluidity" of the wind of these reels, shouldn't be too hard for someone with access to the right jig and tools.
What everyone feels is so easily subject to individual and build of each reel.

Re: Scorpion Mgl
MGL no go with salt... Change the spool out to the Curado K and your OK.
May as well buy the K itself, casts down to 5 gr easily with a good service and light spool shaft polish.

Re: Daiwa reels - gaudy or sexy?
Shimano never really dived into the need to dress up their reels - they didn't have a trick shop or many other parts to choose from. They just worked on a pretty simple yet strong principle of "they just worked". I think Shimano reels look straight forward and the need to dress up a reel with Avail,...

Re: Rod guides
If micro guides are out of alignment just a little would that affect rod sensitivity or performance for fighting fish and or casting ? Question would beg where in the guide train are they off? If they're only a fraction to the left or right of the rest - they wouldn't be of any more concern t...

I'm a man of simple pleasures and some colour scheme's that remain in gentlemanly... I don't appreciate things that look like they've been coloured by a 4th grader with a jumbo box of crayons, but I do like the newer offerings with their straight colour scheme's - especially those that Batman would ...
