2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest

Hi all, I've been researching heavily online for the new Kistler 2019 Z Bone rod. Unfortunately, there really isn’t much recent information out there. It also seems like there are way more G. Loomis owners then there are people who own Kistlers, so the information on these rods are much more scarce ...

Re: Rod balance Loomis / St Croix

I can’t help you with the nrx 854 as I actually haven’t even held it but will offer my opinion based on a handful of other loomis rods, and st. Croix. The new legend tourneys are better balanced then the previous generation. Still a little tip heavy though. The legend elites and x’s are better bala...

Re: The Best Swimbait Rod

Man, I really want the Artex rod now but with how hard it is to get, it's just not feasible. I'm not going to put in that much effort to get the Artex. I don't mind dropping the cash as much, but I don't the got the time for that. I want the Artex because it looks sooo cool and after I started going...

Re: The Best Swimbait Rod

That video was probably one of the coolest videos on catchin hawgs on swimbaits I've probably ever seen! So dope! I really want an Artex rod now. The Megabass rod is something I'll consider too now. I've got some things to think about and seriously mull over because of your guy's recommendations. In...

The Best Swimbait Rod

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a swimbait rod. I'm really close to pulling the trigger on a Phenix M1 Swimbait Casting Rod in 8' Heavy. I've felt this rod in hand at the store and have been really impressed. For a rod of it's power and length, it's really light, balanced, and sensitive. I also like...

Re: Bait Monkey is F***ing Me Over!!! HELP ME!

Sup guys, forgot to mention that I ordered the 842 AND 843 as well. Also likely going to order an Edge spinning rod as they are having 50% sales till Cyber Monday. I want a rod that’s made by a company managed by Gary Loomis the man himself because he’s the original creator of G. Loomis and he’s the...

Re: Bait Monkey is F***ing Me Over!!! HELP ME!

Just as I figured then, it’s just simply a preference for the length. All other specs like the power and action is the same. Since I ordered the 803 already, I’m gonna stick with that. I like shorter rods - 6’ 6” - 7’ - for about 90% of the bass fishing I do.

Re: Bait Monkey is F***ing Me Over!!! HELP ME!

I don’t have an 893c...but I keep reading great things about it. What are the applications, and what makes it so great? I looked at the specs, and it’s over 7 feet long, and that is usually a turnoff for me. x2 I already have a 7' 6", 7' 7" and 7' 11" rods, but they almost never get used unless I'm...

Re: Bait Monkey is F***ing Me Over!!! HELP ME!

Here is my suggestion. Buy the GLX843 MBR from the Trap for 360. Take it and fish it for a week. Then decide If you want the 803 NRX. The 843 has a 15” handle. With the extra length in the handle, it fishes like a 6’10 or a 6’9” rod. Me personally, I prefer the new GLX rods over the NRX series. I’v...

Re: Bait Monkey is F***ing Me Over!!! HELP ME!

Sup guys! I already pulled the trigger last night even before everyone responded. I really appreciate the replies though because it made me feel better. I kinda knew that I was probably gonna pull the trigger anyway, but it's nice having a support group of other tackle addicts hahaha. You guys helpe...

Bait Monkey is F***ing Me Over!!! HELP ME!

Hey guys, I don’t know what it is, but I have this incessant desire to buy some high-end fishing rods. The rods I have in mind are NRX 803c JWR, NRX 854c JWR, and a GLX 843c MBR. I’m seriously on the brink of ordering all three at once. I’ve never owned a G. Loomis rod because of the high price, but...

Re: San Luis Reservoir Striper Fishing

ROUND 2: Veteran's Day Fishing - November 11, 2016 Me and my friend Frank decided to go fish for stripers at O'Neil Forebay again. I start off with the Sammy 128. This size is bigger than I usually use, but I was attempting to get some bigger stripers by using a bigger bait. On my first cast I get a...

San Luis Reservoir Striper Fishing

I haven't posted in a while because I really haven't been fishing much. My focus has been on other parts of my life. I've only been dabbling with some local large mouth bass fishing here and there. Anyways, my friend invited me out to go fishing with him and another buddy on his boat this past Satur...

Re: New 2016 G.Loomis Rods

Hi Bantam1, I'm about to pull the trigger on buying either an NRX or the new GLX. I have a question regarding the new GLX. I've read on Tacklewarehouse where the product descriptions says, "The new G. Loomis GLX Casting Rods now feature blanks that are up to 20-percent lighter than before and also o...
