Re: The Rounders Heavy Metal Club
Took the Ryoga 1520HL paired with an Orochi XXX Destruction 70 out this weekend and tied on a swimjig. Didn't catch anything, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. https://i.imgur.com/bAy1l9m.jpg?1 Beautiful setup. I am thinking about picking up the exact same set up for throwing the Magdraft. Mainly t...

What is this attached to the spool bearing? Daiwa's version of Silent Tune?

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
I'll most likely grab one. The new SV Boost spool sounds cool. I'm sure Daiwa is well aware about the aluminum gear issue in the Metanium. Let's hope the new gears are well engineered to withstand some abuse. Daiwa's aluminum gears in the Steez haven't had the same widespread problem as Shimano's fr...

Re: Any chance of a Curado 300K?
Bantam1, I noticed the weight of the Curado 300 K is listed at 10.6oz and 10.8oz. The Tranx 300 is listed at 11.6oz. About a 1oz difference. What's the difference between a Tranx 300 and Curado 300 (I assume less seals on the Curado 300)? Did the handle sideplate material change from aluminum to gra...

Re: Swimbait reel
The pinion gear on the Tatula 300 looks like it is double bearing supported (not found on the Lexa 300). Very nice. First I've seen from Daiwa with the long spool shaft design. Curious if the new redesigned Lexa has it also.

Re: Rays studio inductor plus a type r inductor spring on sv spool
Hard to find good performance spools for the OG Zillion. 100M spools gets snatched up as soon as they're posted for sale. I just ended up getting spacers. Problem solved.

Re: Question for Catalina TW owners
How does the Catalina TW compare to the Zillion TWS in terms of braking profile and smoothness? I'm in the market for one of these reels. The inductor spring on the Catalina TW is stiffer and has a faster profile. I believe it was developed for braid. The Zillion 1516 is more of an all around spool...

Re: Question for Catalina TW owners
It won't fit. There is a cutout on the frame for the release switch. Here is a picture comparing the Catalina TW and Zillion 1516
Re: Luvias LT
Picked up a 2500 XH for my NRX 852S. Very pleased with it.

SV103 Spool Tuning
Finally got around to install the Ray's inductor into my SV103 spools. The Ray's inductor is tapered and noticeably thinner and lighter (almost 1g lighter). The length is still the same. While I had the inductor apart I added a Type R+ spring as well. These two additions really wake up the reel. I o...

Re: Tdz spool in a SS sv
Took my calipers and SV spools and did some measurements. Length is measured from the edge of the spool to the end of the rotor by eyeballing. Not the most accurate but gives you an idea how much it sticks out. I have a of few Ray's DIY rotor kits but not installed so I couldn't get a length. Spool-...

Re: 17 Scorpion DC Gears
There should be no noise or vibration. This is probably because the gear alignment isn't perfect since they were not really made for that reel. There is a difference between the 70 size reel and the 200. If they are working and you can live with it, fish on. Thanks for the follow up. For now I beli...
